Entegra Aspire DEQ

DW and I are down to three coaches and we were wondering if you could provide 1 Pro and 1 Con on the Entegra Aspire rig.

Thanks for your input.

Doug and Renee.

We are in the same boat. We are finally down to our short list. Aspire pro for us would be the price. Con would be 4 wet cell batteries. I could list more pro's and con's, but you said 1 of each.

Pro: Entegra Aspire is the Best Overall Coach in this class.
Con: You will probably want an Anthem for the upgrades.

Entegra is the quietest riding best handling coach on the market today😃

Con: wish it had the 150 gallon fuel tank, but really no big deal. That is the only thing I could think of😃

Not fair to ask for only one pro

Pro - LP furnace and cooktop
Con - 4 wet cell batteries, but that is easy enough to fix.

Pro....LP Aqua Hot....I chase 80 degrees....few times I need heavy-duty diesel Heat....so I get sweet-smelling exhaust and low tech gizmos that don't break....read that manual shades and a Carefree of Colorado Main Awning

Con....No paint on the ends of my slides....Fixed that with $3k at Precision Paint

I don't have an Aspire, but an Anthem. But if you look on the thread I love my Entegra, who's with me .. you will see lots and lots of Pros. As far as the cons - there are several threads here that some folks are saying what they are unhappy with.

Personally, I haven't found one con on our Entegra yet..... pages and pages of Pro's ......

I can speak to this, I've owned an 13 Aspire DEQ then I traded into an 14 Anthem 44B. I traded primarily for Floorplan and some mechanical differences. We loved our Aspire but like others have said if there is any doubt in your mind it's cheaper to buy your "last coach" first.

Aspire pros: Value vs other coaches. 90% of what you get on an Anthem. Same engine & transmission. We preferred the Carefree awnings over Girard (I know, minority opinion). Propane didn't bother us, some Aspires were all electric. Paint upgrade was not a factor to us. Preferred manual shades from Aspire over electric ones. Preferred GE and Maytag appliances in Aspire over Samsungs in Anthem.

Aspire cons: Goodyear tires not as good as Micheleins (IMHO). Solid axle front end does not handle washboard roads as well as Anthem independent front end. LP Aqua hot is not as powerful as Anthem diesel one. Propane unit runs more. Dometic AC units cooled great but made watching TV difficult in summer in living area (changed in late 13 models).

Anthem pros: Best compromise for us for luxury RV we could retire into and live full time. Noticeably better riding on Micheleins than Goodyears on basically same coach. Much nicer shower area but that is related to floorplan. Better lighting (I think that is a 13 vs 14 thing. Maybe in all Entegras). Enjoy the Coleman AC units over the noiser Dometics.

Anthem cons: Cost to upgrade for us. Cheaper to buy first. I wish there was an alternative to Girard awnings. I consider them fragile for any wind. The paint is very nice but makes me paranoid around any tree branches. Electric shades: I like the electric day shades but wish I had manual night shades. I Have some Cornerstone lust for air leveling and 600hp.

We have a 2013 Aspire RBQ. All the pros listed above. It's hard to find a con - DH would like the extra storage bay of a 44' and wouldn't mind losing the LP tank for more storage. We have no complaints about LP performance and I prefer cooking on gas. Rarely boondock so the batteries have not been an issue. Same for the 100 gallon diesel - not an issue with our travel style. We try to avoid long mileage days. If they decide to make a 44' RBQ Anthem...we'd be tempted. Until then, our Aspire is great.
