Entegra Component Updates
Let me lay out this scenario as an example and get some thoughts from the team:
An Entegra owner purchases a new coach.
1 year later Entegra stops installing a particular component and replaces it with a better component that performs the same function. (for example Step Door Covers from Air to Electric.)
Just before the 2 year mark (on the coach above) and during the factory PDI will Entegra install the new component (at no cost) if requested?

I doubt it. They cannot be expected to update a 2013 coach to 2015 specs. The exception would be if the original component fails and if it is more expedient for them to upgrade than repair or replace.

I wouldn't expect them to do a free upgrade, except for perhaps saftey features. I would like the option of paying for certain upgrades at the PDI though. Not sure if they do that or not. Agree electric step cover would be nice!

It would be really nice, but I agree that it would be unlikely that Entegra would do so. After all, some of the price increases have been to cover upgraded features. If one has not paid for it, why should Entegra install it, except for the reasons already cited?

I know they gave me two new front tires for no cost. I was running 275's. That blew me away.
But, to get free updates for just going there. Won't happen.

X2 on all the above comments. I would not expect them to continually upgrade a coach with changes made unless they are safety features.
HOWEVER I have been very pleasantly surprised by Entegra support after the warranty several times. With other manufactures I would say no way, due to my experiences with CS I wouldn't bet either way.

I have to agree with the others. I paid $3,500 in the 2014 upgrade fees that went into effect July 13 for the for my 2014 model that was ordered in Sept.. The 2015 models carried a $10,000 upgrade fee on the Anthems. Probably one of the fees included the step cover.

Would anyone consider the new rear camera an upgrade? I would pay extra to have the old one. Not all upgrades are for the better. Just a thought.

Would be nice if there was a published list of what updates are included for the model coach purchased.
The website has some information but it's not complete is it?

They won't do upgrades....which is what you describe. You might be able to purchase and install through Precision. Talk to Paul Conley who runs Precision's service Dept. They have very competitive pricing.

Curt,
Here's the phone #. They also painted the stripes on the ends of my sliderooms for under $3000.00. Pics in the Mods thread.

Had a discussion with an Entegra rep concerning this very topic. I won't get into specifics, the perspective was you found value in buying you coach, as featured, for a price. Upgrades occur throughout the year, in the past, but may occur less in the future to avoid versioning issues, as opposed to the next model year. Entegra had had a lot of contact from owners asking for the upgrades for free...not happening (unless of course it is a recall/safety issue). That shouldn't be surprising, given the perspective stated up front in this post.
I ask if they shouldn't consider upgrade designs to allow retrofit when possible. I think I recall the thought being accepted fairly positively, but the rep expressed the concern that the factory is wall to wall with warrantee work (not surprising), and that upgrades are done by both dealers and folks like Precision.
Given where Entegra is right now in its evolution, that may be the most we can ask for from the company. JMHO, after discussing the topic at Redmond at the FMCA rally.
