Entegra: Door awning not flush with body - leaks

On my 13 Aspire, the door awning is not flush with the body, above the forward side of the door. Seems that the factory installed the awning on top of a raised seam, and created a gap, which allows rain water to run down onto the steps, or if the door is opened and the screen door is closed, then rain water right onto the tiled entry way.

Any one else with their awning installed this way?

Mine is, but all they did was caulk the seam, and that solves the problem.

Did they caulk the entire length of the door awning? Mine is caulked from the rear of the awning to the seam. Forward of the seam is where the problem is, and that gap will need more than caulk to close it

Entire length. Looks like silicone.

Contact Joyce or Don at customer service, they will get that taken care of. That would really be frustrating as we like to sit with the door open and watch a nice gentle rain.

It's just annoying to see this type of craftsmanship. To attach an awning ON TOP of a raised 3/8 inch seam is absurd! Then attempt to "fix" the problem with filler and caulking

I noticed on our new coach Entegra has started putting a deflector over top of the door that also runs 2-3 ft. down the leading edge of the door. I would assume it is for air but it would also deflect water. It is similar to the deflectors that they put over automobile windows.

Cool Loisjop, seem Entegra is constantly improving the coaches, ALMOST makes me glad we are waiting so lllllllooooooonnnnnnggggg for our new Anthem to be built.

I had the same situation, water was coming into the coach at the cabinet over the entrance door. It also entered the door itself and it would take days for all the water to finally exit the bottom of the door. I also had another leak over the drivers side window. I read on the forum that other owners had similiar problams. Sent it back to the repair facility and they sealed everything and actually had to repaint the seam when they removed it to seal it.

Entegra will fix everything but we are the ones that have to deal with the repair facilities. I can think of better ways to spend my time. Overall my Aspire has been in the shop over 30 days and counting since purchase. Not all Entegras fault, when the repair shops are busy all you can do is drop it off and wait.

Currently travelling but i have another appointment in September to get other items repaired. I expect it to be their a week or two.

How the heck do they put a 22 inch STRAIGHT base of an awning over a 3/8 inch high gap seam???
