Entegra owners - Check your cables! - Mine is 2013 Aspire

This is about something I noticed on my 2013 Aspire DEQ. It may well apply to Anthem and Cornerstone owners or is maybe only isolated to my particular model, so I am just providing the info and you should evaluate yours.

After one trip (300mi) in a new coach I was checking the battery levels and noticed the coach battery cables sag when retracted and rest upon a aluminum metal divider. I worked at an RV dealership thru college and later became and engineer and I know vibrating machines can chafe any insulated cable. The factory took some precautions and attached a sticky insulating tape to the top of the aluminum wall but my experience says some future date those 3/0 12 V main power cables will eventually rub in contact with the grounded edge of that sharp aluminum divider. With the miles of plastic insulating material Entegra used this appears to be a place where 12 inches of plastic jacket insulation could possibly prevent a short or even a fire hazard.

My solution for now is to install a cable hanger from the frame that prevents the cables from touching the aluminum wall. I drilled in to the frame and used a self taping screw to hold an aluminum eyelet that I have attached a very large zip tie that holds the bundle from resting on the divider.

Examine yours! I'm going to send this to Entegra as a heads up.

Here's the pictures of my battery compartment. Look at the top at the circled area of interest.

will have to be vigilant. Electrical cable wear can cause sparks and worse. Thanks for the warning.
