Entegra "R Values"

Is that information known?

We went and looked at the Dutch Star this weekend. We liked: 1) the ability to customize anything and 2) the all tile floor with the new slid mechanism. But from that point, in our minds, the Anthem is a better value.

With that said, Newmar advertises the R values as follows:

Roof R Value - 24
Sidewall R Value - 11
Floor R Value - 16
Basement R Value - 4

Does Entegra have that information available?

Torgue: 1950 vs 1250

I've just noticed for the first time the difference in torque between the Cornerstone and Anthem/Aspire. That is a huge difference!

We do not have prior Diesel Pusher experience.

We test drove drove an Anthem at the Pomona RV show a few weeks back. Loved it. For a house it had decent acceleration. We test drove in town, onto the freeway, etc. It was fine. Definitely not a race car. Foot to the floor and then let off when you're cruising.

I think my real time experience might be a BMW 328 vs 335i? Or a Boxster vs a Bosxter S. Is that the difference? I love my cars!

Is just asking that question alone worth just getting a Cornerstone?

Those are gas engines but I'd really love to hear some honest stories!

And I will create the debate question - is the extra power worth it? If not, how much should it be worth?

We are on a budget by the way. We've gone from used, to newer, to new, to used Aspire, to new Aspire, to used Anthem to new, to etc! Many of you get that I know.

Thanks all.

The Cornerstone is absolutely another level in several ways. The ISX is miles above the ISL ( and should be for the price difference). It also has a bigger, better front suspension, massive 365 tires and wheels. It has the Hadley Level air system which is great, the bigger shocks and heavier rear suspension. Add the K3 chassis and bigger back tires and wheels. Then there is the heavier, tougher Allison 4000 tranny and you have a whole package of important improvements from the Anthem mountain master chassis. Then you add all the upgrades in the house and there is really a lot more difference than most people see at first glance. Of course all of this comes with a hefty price increase and you have to decide at what price point you are comfortable with. To us, the Cornerstone is absolutely worth the upgrade cost BUT the Anthem is a great high end coach that will not disappoint you, the ISL is very adequate, sure you will be slower up on ramps and to the top of hills and mountains but you will get there fine and won't loose much time. The fit, finish and all Cherry wood cabinets and finishes are top notch on the whole line. The Anthem has ultra leather furniture while the Cornerstone has real leather. The chairs and furniture in the Cornerstone are all upgraded and those new flexsteel chairs are great. The floors, countertops and accent lighting are upgraded and the bed headboard is all wood and the shower is glass enclosed with a double sink in the full bath of the bath and a half models. There are other differences but I have rambled to much already. Study them closely and decide what combination best fits you, they are both great, high quality, high end coaches that you will be proud to own. All JMHO

Agree with Gene, All in what you want to spend to go down the road.

This message is addressed to those of you who have moved from an Aspire or Anthem to a Cornerstone, and it pertains to the Hadley system.

I understand what air levelling is all about, but what about in-motion? What does the Hadley do in motion and what does it mean to you in practical terms?

The Hadley levels the coach going down the road and helps smooth the ride. It helps stabilize the coach on curves and levels it on high crowned roads. We like it and think it helps quite a bite. JMHO

How does that differ from the ride height adjustment that is continuously happening on Anthems and Aspires?

It is air bags adjusting individually to level the coach, more than front or back and adjusting to the road.

The Hadley SLS senses fore & aft as well as lateral displacement of the coach in motion. It has a computer that then sends the message to the appropriate solenoid for that corner to either inflate or deflate the bag. There is a single manifold inboard of the driver side front wheel with 8 solenoids (two for each corner). While driving down the road, depending on the crown, curve or inclination, you can hear they system working; inflating and deflating the individual corner air bags in real-time. The system can also be used to level the coach in lieu of the equalizer hydraulic jacks. It will also allow slightly raising or lowering the coach at low speeds to negotiate obstructions.

The air bags may add to the R value of the floor (see how I got this thread back on track) :-)

Thanks for that explanation. Sounds a lot like HWH's Active Air.

Marc,

Not sure what you're referring to, but I don't recall anything on my 2013 Anthem leveling on the road. Did you add some type of over the road leveling? JMHO, but I don't think traveling leveling system is inherent on the Aspire and Anthem.
