Either will be a great coach. On the Newmar you can do a lot of changes. You can delete one of the couches and put in recliners or a desk or? You should drive both but that feeling that the coach is moving around when a truck passes you will not happen with either. They will both drive great and yes it did take me a few hundred miles to get used to the difference in the Comfort drive after 4 Entegras but both are great to drive. I loved my Entegras and I love my New Aire. They are different and there are trade offs but both are great. Entegra used to have a lot more bang for the buck but with there big price increases the last several yesrs I think you will find the bottom line on comparably equipped coaches will be very close. All JMHO

Oh boy do we know lemons. We actually had one but we were lucky enough to have benefited from California’s excellent LEMON LAW. We had our beautiful custom ordered DP purchased back by the manufacturer after it was in the repair shop for close to 120 days in the first six months we owned it. Of course they dragged it out until a few weeks before the trial date but we got every dime spent, including legal fees, insurance and registration during the time we owned it. We were only out the diesel we spent for the time we did get to use it.
I don’t ever want to go through that fun again.
We took the money and became “trailer trash” for several years, but are thinking about going back to another DP. Call us crazy !

I too am the pilot and my DH is the navigator (good thing or we would be lost if I was navigating)! Drive both and make your decision. I do believe when you go into the "right" coach for you ... it will speak to you and say "I'm it"! Ours did ... and have enjoyed every mile.

I have a 2018 DS 40' I bought this for 1) reputation 2) smallest coach I could get that has a tag. I have had, I hate to say this, NO problems in 8000 miles. I ran into a couple of things I just didn't understand, fuses, etc. A quick call to my dealer and all was good. I looked at both DS and Entegra and it finally came down to lay out and dealer, Guaranty in Junction City, OR. Can't say enough about them and their service department.

The Entegra Anthem 45F is on my shott list. That or the Dutch Star 4362. I don’t want any step-up into the bathroom. Hubby has Parkinson’s and tripping in the middle of the night is a concern. That’s the reason for thinking about leaving my beloved New Horizons Majestic 5th wheel. The three steps inside up and down from the living area and bedroom worry me even with handle bars (that he doesn’t use.....grrrr)

That’s a beautiful rig you have. The two year warranty is swaying me also.

That all said, we are leaning towards the Entegra partly due to all the reasons we have seen on this thread.

To us, the Entegra includes more for the money. The finishes are very comperable: both have stapled cabinets, similar finishes, tile floors, etc.

However, we have found that almost everything standard on the Anthem is an option on the Newmar. Things such as TPMS, Solar, multiplex wiring (I like dimmers on everything) and such. The Newmars either make it an option or don't offer it at all which was sort of surprising.

Bottom line was the interior design of the Anthem was more contemporary, but not too much like, say, the Winnebago Horizon, and the floorplan we like. We hate "dueling" couches (one couch directly across from the other) and just about every Newmar I can find has that, unfortunately.

In the end, like others have said, you just hope you are getting a coach that was made well, early in the work week, with happy workers in a very good mood, etc.

Both have had their lemons to be sure but overall most seem happy with either.
Wow most Newmar dealers will tell you the 2 recliner option is very popular. Check RVTrader and see how many recliners vs dual couches you find and make your own decision.

Yeah, maybe, but I don't care. I had the two recliners in the LTV we just sold and those recliners don't let me contort my body the way I want. Sort of holds you in one position.

A very deep thought from my/this thread:

Newmar owners really like their Newmars and Entegra Owners really like their Entegras.

Therefore, I think we will wait and see the new Foretravel IC-37!

That's becasue they are both good coaches. Both manufactures have had the prefect coaches and the stinkers that have come off the assembly line. I don't think one manufacture tops the other on those numbers. JMO

But at some point in the owner ship experience you will greatly appreciate the build and drive ability quality... that’s where I feel entegra is above the bar...

Believe me... when you start doing 500 miles a day you greatly appreciate
Quietness .. smoothness.. how well the coach cools and heats going down the road.... you can be parked and comfortable but that’s only half the experience
How it drives, feels functions and drives down the road is the other half ... after all it’s a “ motor home” for a reason...else you might as well buy a mobile home
If you’re just gonna live in it...jmho
So, I am torn between the Entegra Anthem and the Newmar Dutch Star. Newmar claims their “Comfort Drive” makes a huge difference and Entegra claims their ride is quiet and smooth. As I am not trading my Thor Miramar in until December, I don’t reLly want to go test drive now.

I guess the question is, does Newmar really beat Entegra in ease and comfort in driving. Love the floor plans in the Entegra, but I don’t want to get beat up driving from place to place.
