Congratulations Bob, Iím happy College Station is working out.

We just had a niece flip her tassel and it was quite an experience to see all the kids graduating.

Best of luck in your new home and job.

-Matt

Congrats Bob. It will be nice for you to put down roots again.

We are somewhat on the other end of the spectrum. Both of our twins just graduated and have jobs. We are currently taking one of them to her first permanent job in Cedar Rapids and her twin sister is getting married in September so we are on the verge of being full time empty nesters. Hopefully we can handle it.

Taxman....

A motorhome and lots of travel can fill a huge part of that void.... sit back and relax and let yourself begin to refocus....

Yep, when I left the nest, my folks went full time...no home to go back to. Best thing that ever happened to me. Not only successful, but learned a lot about RV'ing at a young age.

Most of us, our generation, generally left the nest between the ages of 18 and 22. I moved out at age 16, but I was an outlier juvenile delinquent.

The new normal is extended adolescence - 22-26. If that's true, my daughter is 16, I'm on the hook for another 10 years!!!!!

Teenage girls = stress test.

Some classic example of a rebellious teenager, you are.... Lets see, 4 years of college, 5 or 6 years of medical school and internship and residency, career medical officer in the military, and a wife and 2 kids and still practicing medicine (with a license, I presume).... a lot of families wish they had rebellious kids just like you....

And yes, you and 70% of the rest of the parents your age have their kids still in the house well toward mid-life.... It is the "new way". have fun.... you only go around once in this life Bob... You'll be crying like a baby when she marries off to some young guy.

My son has stayed out of jail, isn't a junkie or a drunk, a career Navy guy, with a wife and 2 kids..... and not living with me and living in his own house.... I could not be happier.

We grinned from ear to ear when the kids left home. Now we wish we had them closer, one is out of the country and the other is across the country. I wish I could have part of it back.
But I have sure been there with #savemysanity .
