Fire Escape Window In Bedroom….Ooops!

I checked the escape window in the bedroom of the new coach to make sure it wasn't stuck. I was also going to make a prop stick to keep it open in case we ever had to bail out. Apparently you don't need a prop stick for that window in a 2015 Conerstone. If you raise the window past 90 degrees the window falls out of the track and drops away. Which it did………..banging the coach twice on the way down when I failed to catch it. Great safety feature if you know about it. The tech was going to show me how to operate the emergency exits toward the end of the PDI but after a day and half I was tired and told him I could figure it out. Don't know if he was going to point out that feature or not.

First scratch on the new coach but at least it didn't break the window………what a dummy…….…….:face palm:…...

Afraid this one won't be free. The dings are too big for touch up and they will worry me silly till I get them fixed. Anyone know of a good mobil touch up guy in Houston?

I would be just real happy the window did'nt break.

Try to use some rubbing compound to get the scratch out.

Thanks for pointing that out. I would probably would have done that if I was more safety conscious. I would take a Mulligan on that one. Sure sorry it happened.

The window falling away is a good thing to know. I always wondered how hard it would be to get out with the window hanging down on you.

Couldn't believe the window didn't break. 7 or 8 foot to the concrete floor. I guess bouncing off the coach broke the fall. Both dings are about 2" long, 1/4" wide and through all 4 layers of paint so buffing isn't going to work.

As a retired firefighter I have wanted to check those windows since we have had the coach but was afraid of that exact thing happening. Sorry it happened to you but now I have my answer before I gave into the temptation.

Ouch! So sorry to hear about the mishap. I know how much that bothers you, because I would be the same way. Good luck on the repairs.
