First 30 amp night

Went to hookup at our 50 amp site in the Blufton/Findlay Ohio KOA and notice no 50 amp breaker. Plugged in the surge protector and flipped the 2 breakers that were there, no juice. Put on my 30 amp adapter so we could cool the coach a little and called the desk. Maintenance man came and had no idea why there was no breaker. Opened the box, confirmed wiring with power but no breaker to get it to the plug. Said he would have to ask the boss why it was disconnected.

2 hours later, 2 ACs and TV on, DW turned on the blow drier and tripped the breaker at the pedestal.

Called the desk again, woman said they had discussed it and someone was going to come talk to me though she has no idea what the decision was.

We're meeting friends for dinner, I will turn one AC on to try to ensure it stays a little cool just in case the dogs decide to use the microwave for popcorn or something. Glad we're in Ohio and not Texas!

The park is kinda tight, saying it is "big rig friendly" is a stretch.

The hair dryer will always do it!

I think your rig may have the load shedding device which I believe kills the aqua hot electric water heater element first, not sure what's after that.

We don't have that device, and the last 30A park we are at in the heat, we shut off the aqua hot electric, dialed back the Magnum Shore Power setting to 5 Amps and turned off the Humidity Control on the fridge. After that we were able to run two AC's and the other low draw necessities reliably (but not the hairdryer) without popping the pedestal breaker.

Reddy Kilowatt's rules for RV parks
15 amp: You MIGHT run an A/C but likely not
20 amp: With batteries full 1 A/C and a few other things (Like the Fridge and TV)
30 amp.. 1 A/C Fridge, TV and one or two kitchen appliances or the Microwave.. Hair dryers may or may not work

50 amp == ALL YOU CAN EAT
