Vance, There is a Speedco in Dallas. Speedco They use to post there prices, but I don't see it anymore. Last I heard a complete service for a MH at Speedco was under $150. I have never heard of a complaint about Speedco and they use the same products Cummins does. It wouldn't hurt to call them. If you do, let us know what price they quote.

Next oil change I will try one of the truck service centers near my home. I thought a Cummins dealer may do something special but turns out they don't.

I think you are right on that. When we first had our coach it was at a Cummins service, paid for by the RV dealer for an issue we had. I asked them about oil change. He steered me away from them to a local diesel shop that we have used for stuff ever since. I do my own oil changes now though.

Here is another comparison. Freightliner service lube job = $110. Local diesel shop = $35.

I normally shop and get estimates before I buy. I like to take my cars to the brand dealer for service so followed that with my oil change.

I just called a Petro that is 5 miles from my house (Southern Plains is 35). Oil and filter change is $250, chassis lube is included!

This old dog just learned a new trick the hard way!

I just loaded the Speedco app on my phone and will use them for lubes before returning home. I'll still change my own oil but the lube I can see is going to be a real pain.

I did mine, plus generator service, and I think the toll was around $550 for all including lube. Work done at Cummins in Ocala, FL. Also had an oil analysis at $35.

I had my generator serviced at Cummins in Flagstaff last summer, as I recall it cost $175.

I did mine in the hanger yesterday for $26.50 North Trails RV is quoting $155. but only 4 qts of oil. I imagine they would be another $20. for the 2 extra quarts of oil the 12.5 KW takes. Now that the quick drain valve is installed the next change will be less than 10 minutes and no mess.

I hear that! It is the same way if I want to take mine in to get it serviced. Not so much the traffic, just getting there is a hassle.

Chuck,

What is your time spent and cost for changing your cummins engine oil?

Curt

Shell Rotella current price at Walmart 84.50 Filter onlne $35.00 total $119.50 Once the quick drain valve is installed it takes less than an hour. Without a quick drain valve it takes longer to clean up the mess than changing the oil. I am even thinking of have Speedco do the first oil change and have them replace the drain plug with the Fumoto Valve that I already have.

It's not so much the small savings, it is the fact that I check everything on the MH when I change the oil and know nothing has gone unchecked. Coolant is checked with test strips, all fluids and belts are checked and I know everything is perfect when it leaves for the next trip.

There will be times I am going to start using Speedco on the way home and check everything else when I get home. Speedco's price is getting hard to do it yourself and save much. I am fortunate that have a place I can do the work and I enjoy it.
