I looked again at Walmart prices. They have Rotella for $13.67/gallon or quantity savings at $151 for a 3 gallon box. You can save even less by buying a "5-gallon pail" for $229! The high priced offers are "Sold and shipped by Tonzof".

Not to me but must be where Southern Plains gets their Rotella!

Speaking of oils to use in the engine and just for fun........In my Tacoma PU which is my toad, I have played with regular 5-30 oil, a Synthetic blend, full synthetic and even Walmarts store brand, both straight oil and synthetic blend, to see if any of the oils had any better millage as advertised.....nope the truck still got 17 MPG except with the synthetic blend it dropped to 16.xx MPG. All of the oils were good brands and I could not see any difference one over the other. I will never own the truck long enough to see if the engine would get an extra 10,000 miles on it using one particular brand of oil.

The truck usually gets Valvoline now as I like NASCAR and Valvoline is a sponsor, but their oil was just the same as the others in my truck test.

I use Rotella in the Cummins as it seems to be the most popular with truck drivers, truck shops and it is easy to get on the road at any Walmart even the non-super stores. I will not mix oil brands when adding oil and that is something to remember when having the oil changed by someone else. Stay with the oil brand that you have the extra gallon of on board.

WOW! I get two cases (3 gallons each) at BJ's for around $70. That is not shipped of course. $30 for a Fleetguard filter but you can get a Fram for $23 at Online Truck Filters for Sale, Filterbarn H&S Industries - Filterbarn Free shipping over $100 which is easy to do when you buy oil, 2 fuel, generator and whatever other filters you can come up with.

Somehow this math doesn't work, Vance, 1 gallon $13, 3 gallons $151, and 5 gallon $229. Sounds like exponential pricing technique...but at those prices, they ought to offer a campsite as well

That pricing doesn't make sense, but that is what is on the Walmart website. Juat go to the nearest Walmart and buy it by the gallon.

And the nice part, return it to the same place when you're finished with it. No looking for a place to dispose of the used oil. Drive around back of the auto bays and there is usually a sign where to leave the used oil.

I talked to the service manager at Southern Plains today, mainly about $504 labor for an oil change. He told me in a round about way that they aren't really interested in doing oil changes, that an oil change is an oil change and it doesn't matter who does them as long as they use quality oil and filters.

Turns out he was the same guy that showed me the $718 estimate before they did the work.

Vance, I had almost the same thing told to me by Cummins in Ft Myers several years ago. They said their shop was too small to tie up bays for oil changes when major repairs were much more profitable. He told me they would do them, but I wouldn't like the price. I bought an LF 9009 filter and left. Now that Cummins doubled their price on the filters, I don't buy those from them anymore either. $58. at my local Cummins dealer, $30- $35. online.

Camping World in Oakwood GA serviced my Gen for

$99.00 plus tax. Chassis oil service is $199 and that includes up to 20 quarts of Rotello oil we are using the same location for warranty work on our 14 Aspire 44B. We have been Very Pleased with their service department. Even though they don't sell Entegra the service and sales guys ALWAYS. Comments "That's a Nice Coach!." As a matter of fact our Aspire is there now for a couple of issues. We are getting things ready for our fall trip to Maine leaving Sept 8th.
