Have fun with your search. Take your time and get the one you want, not the one that seems to be easiest to get right now. Not sure if you are buying new or used, but there are a lot of used MH's out there right now.

Take care,

I have to agree with Dan. Look around and try to do as much research as you can. If you have never RVed in the past then you may want to rent a unit and make sure that you like it before you sign your name on the bottom line. It is a fun lifestyle but not for everyone.

One of the big cautions are to be careful of RV Bling. It is easy to get taken in by cool interior features on an overloaded chassis. Think long and hard about how you want to use the unit, who will be with you, and how long you will be out at any time.

X2 on the previous response. We are first timers as well. leading up to that purchase, we spent a great deal of time looking at coaches versus 5th wheels. And, we spent a lot of time prepping on coaches and as much as we could get on "real" pricing before we went to a show at Hershey. You can't do enough because you need to have eyes wide open at the numbers we're talking about, particularly of you choose DPs, as we did.

That said, the fun in the research will lead to a choice that your ecstatic with...as we are...and that may be the most important. The look, floor plan, quality of the coach build, and the chassis all seem to interact to arrive at a price point that you're interested in buying at.

Have fun...we did and 10 days in, we're having a ball

While at MHS you might go 1/4 mile down the road (North) and look at the American Coach Revolutions at Ancira.

You might find this Cruzer comparison useful as you look. Then read some of his other posts. Good info as you start your research.

First buy

A300PLT

I used to fly the A300. Now B777., so I have a similar background.

I traded a Diplomat for an Entegra Aspire this year. PM me if you wish to converse. I can at least tell you what I have learned along the way. I've been RV-ing for almost 20 years and I worked my way thru college repairing RVs.

Hi pilot
I bought in May 2012 a 2001 diplomat 38A and love it. It's in great shape and runs great. I put 12K miles on if so far and heading out west in March. Diplomat has my vote.
Great travels
Rick

Ps. Under the hobby forum we had discussion on MH owners that are pilots. Private and commercial. There are bunches of us.

We have the Aspire - certainly looked at Monaco, our last coach was a Beaver and we liked it a lot but when we were ready for a new coach, the Monaco line just didn't give us the options we wanted. We got more bang for the buck with the Aspire. It really depends on what is highest on your wish list - find the coach that gives you most or all of what you love and you'll be happy.
