For those who had to replace a radiator on a Spartan chassis, what mileage?

My wife and I are considering a 2016 Anthem with 10,000 miles on the odometer. At what mileage did most owners experience the radiator failure that I’ve read about? The coach is just off warranty and I want to make sure enough mileage has accrued that this problem will show up.

I think the mileage was all over the board. Mine failed after the first trip, maybe 8,000 miles if that. On the coach you are looking at, call Spartan 517-543-6400 with the last 8 number of the VIN and they can tell you if the radiators has been replaced and when. Anything after 11/16 will be the new raditors

The radiator is under Spartans warranty which is 3 years. I would think that your 16 may be out of warranty from Entegra but you should still be under the Spartan warranty. Call them and they will send you in for a pressure test of the system at an authorized Spartan service location. I think that you may still be OK on the warranty.

Ours was replace at 25,802 miles in 11/2017 one year out of warranty. Got no help from Spartan. $1763.78 for the radiator included shipping. $1935.80 for installation. Total $3699.58.

Happy camping.

Mine went out at 25,000 ... seems that’s about the average mileage from what I read... 3 to 5 grand to replace depending where you are at... imo.. it’s just a matter of time and these radiators will fail...

I had mine replaced at 62,000 miles - 1 yr out of warranty. Spartan stepped up and paid for the radiator (I paid for labor) because I had documents(multiple pressure tests/ leaks reported) showing we had been chasing a coolant leak since I first owned the coach in 2014. The radiator finally started puddling at ~55,000 miles.

The “radiator fairy” visited us around 15000 miles. Entegra treated us well and Spartan took care of it.

Have the new radiators been less failure prone?

Mine did not fail...I have not seen as many new radiators posted with failures, but it has happened with new model replacements.. One I know of was a bad install, the fan hit the radiator.

Jpcoleman what did Spartan say about that radiator? It might help the next person shopping for a used Entegra about checking the history.
