Ford Edge Toad Taillight Wiring Solution

Yes, 2016 Edges can have taillights wired to operate correctly with coach lights.

Several hitch places and even Blue Ox HQ said we'd have to use wireless taillights but Just For Towing in Yuma AZ (928) 782-3611 knew exactly how to do it. Their tech Kevin tapped all the wires for stop, tail, and turn signals through the driver side taillight assembly ABOVE the connectors just behind the lens reflector and installed the diodes there. Then he ran wires underneath the car to the plug receptacle in the grill without going into any of the car's installed wiring. The usual umbilical cord is conected and the taillights mirror the coach's lights as they should.

Cool, that is exactly how I wired up my F-150 Platinum with the 10 wire lights and integrated sensors.

We're getting ready to buy a 2015 Edge SEL. Is this an issue we should know about?

Not sure. I think the '15s and '16s are the same but your Ford dealer could tell you for certain. Not an issue is you find someone who knows how to wire the taillights correctly.

If anyone desires to know, I used Roadmaster 4 diodes in the tail lamp area on my 2016 Edge Sport and the LED lights work fine. 2015 has the same lights. Don't know about 2017s. PM me if you want info.
