Anyone have some insight as to whats happening with the Forum search tool? Is it gone for good?

Just got to Google, enter your search terms, and add site:irv2.com to the search. Works really well.

I see nothing wrong with our search tool here on iRV2. I just searched for a couple of threads that I am familiar with and I found them on first try. Maybe people are not using the one right on our Entegra first page??

You are correct the iRV2 search function is almost worthless compared to what it use to be. This is what I think happened.

A few month or so ago the sight was hacked big time that shut the site down several times over a few weeks. The site was rebuilt and a lot of security measures installed. Whatever they did during the rebuild now puts any and all words including any posts the author made all together in the search function and now 400 results come up instead of a half a dozen.

Google does work well if I can remember how the original post was worded or titled.
The old search function would pull out the "key" phrase and list the post....then I would recognize the post title. I sure miss that!

The mods are really good at monitoring these posts and I am sure they know the right people to get this problem related to. I too hope it can be fixed. Thanks guys.

I've been using the mobile version of iRV2 on my iPad. The search function that loads from the pull down has been 'off' for a while.
Do use the Google search on the laptop but agree with Chuck...ain't the same anymore.
Most of my reading of this site is using my iPad and may have to abandon the mobile version.
Too bad, but does raise a question for me.
Can you get to the iRV2 home page from the mobile version?
No one will ever confuse me with an IT person...

One thing I would like to see is a longer section for the "Resent Discussions" box. If there are a lot of users online, and you want to check out two threads, the second one might be gone after looking at the first thread in 5 minutes.

Thank's all. Too bad. I was hoping a Moderator or IRV2 official had advised they were working on it. As far as I know it's only the Entegra Forum as a few others I visit are normal.

Pat, the problem appears to be in the Travel Supreme folder also. Don't know about others as I haven't tested them.

Interesting. I still visit a couple other forums, and when there, I realize how much I miss the Search tools on the Entegra forum. I've been a member of IRV2 since 2004 and have seen a couple of software glitches occur on other forums. As I recall an IRV2 tech. or Moderator informed members of the situation and that it was being worked on. Always fixed but took time.

In this case I am not aware of any action by IRV2 to resolve the problem. Is anyone else? Some say they are not having a problem and makes me wonder if it might be user specific? Anything's possible.
