After a stop there last fall, you would, IMHO, be better off going down the road a bit further to Mesa Verde then off to Durango and a side trip to Silverton.
The local indian tribe that runs the 4 Corners 'monument' have put a fancy concrete block building and grounds together but the rest of the messy site really isn't worth the time nor the $10 (last September) parking fee. Last time there in 1981, it was free and a kind of interesting place in the desert for our young kids to stand in 4 states at the same time - not now.
