Front A/C 2018 Aspire Cold control
Finally getting around to one of the things the dealer and I could not fix before we left the dealership.
The cold temp control was bad and they had to order one to fix the AC.
I told them to skip it and I would order and install myself.
Got the part and have only one question.
When the service tech( I use that word loosely!!!) pulled the old control out I did not see where he pulled the capillary tube from.
Can anyone PM or post me a pic of that capillary tube and where is tucked into on the cold side of that evaporator??
You will have to pull the front out by the gen set and look up underneath the dash and look to the right of the defroster/heater box.
Its a silver box with 2 wires brown and blue. Silver capillary tube.
Silver tube is the one I need to see where it is suppose to go into the evaporator box.
Thanks men.

Good pics.......but I apologize for not being more clear......I need to know where that capillary tube ends up going.......it goes up along the Evap black plastic box.....but I need to know where it terminates at up on top there somewhere.....?
YOu may have to reach up and feel where they are feeding it to.....the box.....or somewhere else???
Thanks
M

Mitch, Sorry. I cannot get my hand on top of the air box. The tube runs up and towards the center of box. The only possibility I saw was maybe removing the center infotainment console to gain access to the heater box. Only 8 screws.

Mitch, check this out. http://www.evanstempcon.com/pdf/warrantySchematics.pdf From the Temp-Con site. Best I can tell it enters the top of box an inch or two back from front and about 5-6 inches from drivers side. You might have to remove the 2 round black ducts just to the right of box to gain access.

I got a small snap-on telescoping mirror up there and spotted a spot like you describe that has a slot of the plastic cut out........I thank God I am only 165 lbs and have girl hands and arms and was able to get the tube inserted in that slot and pushed in a couple inches........I fired the old pig up and ran the AC.......it cools down and with the trusty infrared gun it is kicking out the compressor on the cold side going into the evap at about 38 degrees......PERFECT!!!!!
THANKS a ton for the schematic.......I did a couple google searches on the Evan Tempcon but did not come up with that..........SUPER JOB on that, Sir!!!!!!!
