Front Door Awning, 2017 Anthem 44B

My front door awning collects water. I talked to Girard and you can adjust the pitch to lean the awning to the front or the back so the water (theoretically) will drain off either side.

I am wondering if anyone has any experience in doing this, looks fairly easy but these things tend to get harder than they look....

thanks

Check Giratd website or YouTube for a video. That has helped me many times.

If the Girard is the same as the 16's, it is fairly easy. Just make sure you don't lower it to much and have it in the way of opening the door to your coach. I would tilt it down a little more on one end to keep it draining away from the coach.

Unfortunately I have run into a difference between the Girard Manual and what I have. Picture 2 shows what I have. On the left I am supposed to be able to put a wrench on that bolt but its covered in the black cover. Picture 1 shows the picture of this same area from the manual and it shows that bolt head fully exposed.

Not sure what to do beyond waiting until Wednesday and calling the factory and asking.

front door Awning Holding Water Final Resolution

After talking to Girard I found out how my new awning was a bit different from their manual and was ready to adjust the front up some and the rear down some so that the water would roll off to the back.

However, before I tried that a friend with an Entegra told me that my problem was that my awning material was slack and to simply retract the awning by 1cm (he is from New Zealand...) and it would tighten up and not hold water.

Bingo, that solved the problem. So I then adjusted my out motor limit so that it stops there now, problem solved in an easier fashion.
