Front tire blowout

I canít remember the thread, but, last summer people were talking about the dreaded front tire blowout and some of the devices you can put on your front tires. I think people were talking about National Indoor Rv Center installing something On there wheels.... Can somebody refresh my memory please, and thank you

Do you mean TPMS?
Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
IMHO well worth the investment. I especially like that the monitor will alert you when your tires get hot along with pressure problems.
Maintaining your tires will help but nothing can prevent a blow out accident.
You Tube has great videos on both.
Learning how to drive safely with a blowout is a must watch

I think you are referring to Tyron bands. One issue with them is there is a special tool required and most roadside assistance and most tire dealers donít have the tool. Without the tool, you canít replace the tire.

I believe that the OP is talking about Rettrobands. This is a new product which is essentially a plastic type wheel that is installed inside the tire and mounted onto the wheel.... if there were a blowout, the rubber tire simply falls an inch or two and you then are traveling on the inner solid wheel. The developers have traveled 20 miles at reasonable speed after the tire is flat with no difficulty. You can Google Rettrobands and you will find their web page. They are exclusively installed and sold right now by NIRVC. THis is an Australian product developed by a ballistics company that makes equipment for the military.

This is a product that I am very interested in. If you want, I can find the thread for you and you can read from the beginning to end. In all likelihood, I will be getting them installed. They are expensive but I think they are the best advance in coach front axle tire blow out that anyone has come up with.

This is probably the thread that you are thinking about:

Interesting new tire blow out safety device

I had the Rettroband installed a couple of months ago. They are pricey but so is any kind of insurance. I certainly feel better knowing they are there.

Rettrobands are the answer. We have them on our's and they work great. No downsides or negatives other than the cost. The complete install and review will be featured in an upcoming Family RVing Magazine issue.

On my last two Tyron band installs the tool kit was included, itís in a red bag and says Tyron on it.
If you donít have it call the place it was installed at, the technician might have forgot to put in the coach.
