Front TV in Cornerstone

For Cornerstone owners, I have a question about the front TV (overhead above driver seat). Right now I only seem to be able to use that TV to either watch broadcast TV signals or a DVD played on the in-dash stereo. I haven't been able to use it to watch satellite or play a DVD from the main house DVD player.

Is this correct, or is something installed incorrectly on mine? There are no cords plugged into the HDMI inputs on that TV. Anyway, I'd rather be able to show the same thing on both the front TV and mid-ship TV, so not sure what the solution is.

Don't know what TV service you use. I use direct and have a Genie attached to it (as well as each other TV; you get up to a max of four I believe) and have no problem with any satellite channels. The one thing you MUST observe with this set up, is each Genie has its own remote. If you use a different remote, then it will return to the TV that "belongs" to that remote. Mine are labeled on the back. The solution if you use the wrong one is to hit the reset button on the Genie.

Front TV plays Satellite TV from the living room DirectTV receiver on mine. Only set that doesn't is the bedroom which has it's own dedicated Direct TV receiver.

You can get an additional Direct TV Genie and solve that problem...great because it allows watching two March Madness or NFL games simultaneously....of course, DW may object

Hmm... I think I need to call Entegra and ask why mine doesn't do that. I assume you switch to one of the HDMI inputs to watch satellite? When I try to switch to HDMI on mine, those inputs are "grayed out" and I can't select them since there's nothing plugged into the input.

I might look into that. I use mine a lot in the fall for tailgating. You can never have too many football games on!

When they installed my Genies, the put a wireless router in my basement. At least one of my Genies is a wireless, which allows me to pull it out of its location and set up with an external TV (I've seen some set up a big screen while tailgating outside; at a Cowboys game naturally...everything is big in Baja Oklahoma). This works very well as well.

I would say you are probably on the right track. The tv is wired for HDMI, so it might be simply disconnected or loose. Check to see if there is a HDMI cable plugged into the back. If it is, check the connection at the box that is located in the basement.

On my 2013 Cornerstone, only my satellite and the front nav disc video would play on the Front TV. So I added an HDMI switch midship that feeds either the satellite or the DVD player to the front TV. This works great because now the kids can watch and have the sound in the back without me having to listen!

I did have to put the output of the Samsung DVD player in 1080i mode to make the signal look good. When in 1080P, the switching frequency was too high and the front TV would have white pixels sprinkled over the picture.

You should be able to watch satellite from your overhead TV. You should have a selectable HDMI input available. On mine it is HDMI2. If I look behind the right lower corner of the TV I can see the HDMI cable where it plugs in - Is yours visible? May also wish to check your HDMI splitter, on mine it is located in top of the last PS bay. Does your satellite play through the bedroom TV and outside TV OK?

In the lower corner of my TV, I can see that both HDMI inputs are empty. I wonder if the cable is tucked back in the cabinets or something like that? The satellite does play in the bedroom and outside just fine. I didn't know there were splitters in the storage bays, so I will check that out. Thanks for the suggestions...
