Not sure I understand. Are you proposing a 50x50 building for RV? 50 length will be just enough, will little extra if a 45' coach.

Mine is 15 by 55 and I wish it were 20 by60 for a little more room to move around.

Is the 45' bumper to bumper? On our coach the mirrors extend forward and if tow bar is left attached that adds more space.
Also if you want to open any hatches or slides need to have extra room for that. 20x60 sounds like a min size to me.

Thx 4 all the input. Guy's trying to figure the land purchase proposal. The folks are very flexile and I just need a final size for the garage

Agree with Steve - 20x60 is minimum, and with a 14' tall 16' wide door.

I would shoot for a 10 foot minimum on each side and on each end. That would include all slides open and full dimensions including mirrors whatever is hanging off the back and everything else. That would be my minimum starting point. It wouldn't hurt to have some extra side room. I would also second the 14' x 16' garage door maybe even a hair bigger if you could pull it off…

Our shed is 36x72 and quickly became too small. However thinking about evicting the son's toys and will be back to just enough.

Bottom line is it seems whatever is built will find things accumulating in it. You will find friends you never knew you had.

Bigger the door the better. 14' tall for sure.

I had been thinking about building my own "Garage Mahal". Lots of good ideas presented.

A 50 ft building is measured from the outside so depending on materials, a 50ft building may only be 47ft of usable space. So with a towbar, you may have a bit of trouble fitting a 45ft motorhome.

John, having seen your home, I wonder how you'll overcome the slope up to you lot, whichever the side...to grade it down, got to believe your going to have utility issues. I wonder if it might be easier to buy an acre east or South of town, put 100 Amp electric in, and build your building on it...a pole building with concrete pad and electric ought not cost too much and would be a lot easier than in your subdivision. I know you have told me no problems with the HOA; what happens when someone new moves in and doesn't like the 15X60 RV Port/garage...just sayin'
