GE Advantium microwave
We need to replace our Samsung microwave in our 2014 Entegra Anthem. The GE Advantium microwave looks very interesting but I wonder how well it will hold up when traveling and being bounced down the road. Does anyone have an experience with this microwave?

Our Advantium is holding up perfectly with almost 2 years and about 15K miles on it. No reliability problems or weird behavior like we had with the factory installed samsung. We leave the glass turntable in place, but store the metal oven racks elsewhere when on the road. Much more versatile unit than the Samsung.

We installed the GE Advantium two years ago replacing our Samsung.
Continues to perform as it did when installed.

Special ordered an Advantium in out 2002 DSDP still going strong with no repairs in 2015 when we traded it in on the present '09 Magna with Advantium. I can't find any repair bills from the previous owner but no problems for me in the last 4 years.

I can't comment on RV use, but we have an Advantium over the range oven in our sticks and bricks house, and love it, we bought it on Halloween night 2005, and it is still going strong.

What's involved in replacing with the GE Advantium? Is it like a direct plug and play item. Will an appliance store replace it?
Which Advantium model are you using?
We too are fed up with our Samsung.
Thanks in advance.

For those that have used this, how is it?
We have a whirlpool, and it sucks. Low power Canadian model. Tag states 1500 watts input, ,1000 watts output.
Microwave is just plain slow, no power, even the cheapest Walmart microwave is faster .
Convection mode, 425 is Max, and warmup time is glacial.
I'd love to find a good replacement.

PSA9120SFSS is the model number. I’ve installed three, two in Mh and one in 5th wheel. It’s pretty close to plug and play, but there is always little differences. Biggest thing is usually the mount bolts are in slightly different place.
I doubt an appliance store would install it.

We have had issues with preheating with our Advantium. Could be operator error. Otherwise works great. Went through two Samsungs before just spending our money to replace them. Only install issue was the offset of the outside vent but it didn't match the Samsungs either. When we ordered our coach in '13 we were told that we would get GE appliances one of our buying points because we had them in our S&B and loved them. When our coach arrived it had all Samsung. We'll never forgive them of that. And as we thought, we've had problems. Hate the refigerator BTW. No lights in the freezer and no overhead ceiling lights to off set. Need a flashlight to forage your freezer. As full timers that sucks. Entegra forgot that they were selling some folks a house and not just a weekend cabin.

IMO, not plug and play, but not that big a deal. Don't know if the average home installer is up to the job in regard to keeping things from rattling while you are driving.
Here is a video of my removal of the Samsung and replacement with the Advantium PSA9120SFSS version. I managed to do it myself. If you can suffer thru the 27 minutes of video it should give you a rough idea of what is involved with removal and replacement. However, every coach model year and floor plan is likely to be different so YMMV.
In regard to slow preheat, say to 450, IMO that is the nature of the beast for a 120 volt appliance (vs a 240 volt version), however the Advantium while not perfect, has been much better than the Samsung in that regard.

When my first Samsung quit under warranty, an RV mobile tech installed the change over in about 20 minutes.
