Gen slide opens by itself

On my 2019 Anthem the gen slide is creeping open the longer the coach sets. Air system does bleed off air over time which is normal...butit also allows the gen slide to open up. Over 10 days it has crept out and 5 inches...at this time I start the coach to air up and then press control switch for gen slide to retract the slide to full close.
Anyone with the air operates gen slide experiencing this? Customer service feels this is normal???

Not normal. My 19 has been parked in storage since Aug and has not creeped open at all. I have to start it to get the generator compartment open.

Is the coach level or do you have it lower in the front?

Customer service said it might be that the front is a bit low and as the air bleeds off the weight of the gen causes it to creep out. I don't have the jacks down.

I have experienced what the OP describes when the front end is lower than the rear. I am considering adding a mechanical catch to keep it from happening.

I haven't looked at the cylinder but would it be possible to add a check valve in line so that it didn't bleed off when the coach system did?

My 19 has never done that, but I am not impressed with the whole slide mechanism system. There should be a lock and a hydraulic system would be so much better than the pneumatic system. If someone comes up with an easy and positively locking system as a mod, I will likely perform same on mine.

Maybe it is normal if a coach is not level. I have pulled on mine after sitting for a month and it won't budge. However I have had mine in my downhill driveway for over a week and it did not move.

Gen lids open

All,
Attached (I hope) is pic of the installation on my 2016 Anthem of a gas shock to prevent what you all are discussing.
The coach came with this feature. Only detraction is I have had to replace the forward ball fixture twice but no big deal in order to perform the intended function.
Don't know if the coaches after 2016 had this but it works great.

Happy holidays to all...The Balladeer

Not at all not normal. My 2019 Anthem does not do this regardless of whether or not the coach is level. We have owned thr coach for 3 months now and this never happened to us.

Should not creep open. Our 2016 did that and control valve was replaced due to bypassing.

On our 16 Anthem the gen slides have crept out ever since was new. I mentioned it several times and last spring Entegra replaced the ram that works the slide because they said it was leaking air. I did not go 500 miles and it was creeping out again . Contacted customer service and they tell me there is a latch on it that must not be working but if there is a latch on it they sure did a great job of hiding it when they installed it. Supposed to have it looked at again next month at Lazy Days on Entegra's dollar. Waiting to see how that goes before rattling more chain's..... Alan
