Generator at the Entegra Event

So is running the genny a no no at the non power spots? We don't have a gen-turi for our exhaust, but need to run the generator to keep the puppies cool. How many plan to run their generator with no Gen - turi? Or should we be ordering a gen turi now...

I have one and will use it.

I spoke with them about length of quiet time...not friendly to Aspire owners because of limited battery capacity....recommend it be changed to 11:00 pm - 7:00 am.

Then I requested an area for full generator....24/7... as we get at FMCA....an awful lot of us have fur kids, and I planned on Full Generator.

Gen-Turi is certainly recommended anytime we have concentrated generator use.

You should look into getting one ASAP....C/W or Amazon...it's a Camco product, so you can find it lots of places.

Should also plan on having 2 foil turkey pans full of water to put under your Genny and Aqua Hot exhausts. It would not be a good thing if we have a grass fire.

I also recommended Zipper parking.

Pat

Just received or Gen-Turi yesterday. Will get it setup prior to heading over. I have built a special pan coated with ceramic for the Aquahot exhaust, that will prevent starting any fires from the hot exhaust.

Looks like a zipper from the air....see diagram....
Advantages:
Keeps the on-board Generators away from sleeping quarters.
People don't have to back in.
You can actually put out your slides and awnings.
Simplifies running the electric.

Disadvantage: It takes a little extra space.

My genny exhaust has a downturned chrome tip. I assume that need to be removed prior to rigging up the gen-turi.

Yes, you will remove the turn-down tip and replace it with an adapter that comes with the Genturi

I'm going to make mine so that I can put the chrome tip back on for normal use.

I have seen a lot of DIY posted online with photos made from simple PVC.

There is little more annoying when attending an event which requires generator power than to have to deal with my own, and all my neighbor's diesel exhaust blasting into my face if we try sitting beside our coach, or filter into my coach even with all windows and doors closed!

I have done them with all coaches using mandatory Gen-Turi and events with no or few Gen-Turi on generators and when Gen-Turis are run, life is MUCH nicer and more reasonable for everyone. For an investment of roughly $125, you can be courteous to all your neighbors, and increase the safety for yourself and all in your coach.

Buy at Amazon or CW. You will need to remove the downturn exhaust so it will mount horizontally.

Also, someone else pointed out that you can extend the Gen-Turi further above your coach by buying I think it is 3" thin wall PVC at Lowes or Home Depot with a flair flange on one end. You can extend as far up as you need to extend. I am going to need to extend mine up further with this new Anthem. Campco will sell you an extension also but it is quite pricey. I always have mine in the basement.

Gary

I know what you are saying is true Chuck but man my Genturi get's really hot when the genny is running. I'm not sure I'd trust regular old pvc with that heat. Besides a pvc exhaust is pretty heavy. The Genturi pipe is thin and light. Spend the $125 IMHO!

Nice to know Dave, thanks. We took the easy way out and paid for electric parking.
