The DS slide awning topper will not roll up when I retract.......it does at first but then hangs up about half way in........working the slide in and out sometimes works to get it in.......and warm days better than cool........but something is binding that roller mechanism........anyone with ideas on this one???

May just need to be cleaned up a bit in the mechanism if you can see in there at all.

Possibly some dry lube on it might help, but I'd check on using anything on it first with the manufacturer.

The Girard awnings are newer awning so you might have to go to Girard's website

I read that thread.........I am a bit confused on where this center support is on that slider topper......I will have to take the cover off the topper when I get back to the shop this weekend and look in there and see what the issue is.

I would double check on Girard's website. Not to many reports with Girard slide toppers yet.

You can't open them up to clean the debris out like I could on the ones I had on my last coach (carefree I think)

Well after a few weeks of phone calls to Girard and parts sent..........I got the topper working last night.........Just so you guys know how things go wonky EVERY thing I buy........... after sending them pics of the awning cassette mounted to the coach and then how the roller and spring were installed, Kyle at Girard says that the spring was installed at the factory on the wrong end of the roller tube........or the wrong tube/spring was put in that cassette..........He says he has never seen that before..........WELL you know I was gonna get that for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is still more to the story.........but I have had my fill of the slide awning issue.
Now back on the phone this AM to figure out why my full side regular awnings are not fulling retracting.............must be a limit switch setting I imagine......Hello.....Girard.
