Got the wheels polished...

Okay, so I watched the video of the guy sitting on the milk crate polishing the wheels. I bought everything for the task, but perfected the set up with a large glass of Jack Daniels by my side. There I sat with an audience proudly with the buffer in hand and my cold drink nearby. I heard the ooooos and aaaaas and the wheel spun.

I was the envy of the campground when I was done and they shined like brand new ones. BUT now I'm addicted! There can't be too much glow off those wheels and I'll probably burn through the aluminum. I guess when the tires start loosing air I'll know to stop.

The whole coach is pretty dirty right now BUT.......Those wheels sure do shine!

I just bought a cheep body buffer at sears and I found a 6 inch buffing wheel at Harbor Freight and some rouge. The 6 inch wheel didn't work as easy as I had hoped.

Now I have a 10 inch wheel and some better rouge that I bought at a chrome shop of a truck dealer. So much easier than using "mothers".

Dave,

Wow! Wheels look great.

I see you got a Canadian coach. Does it have the Canadian standards option?

Yes it has the Canadian standards which I really don't need but I keep the flag on it so the Canadians will talk to me, eh.

I polished mine as well, using an acid wash, then polish. They came out "ok" but not as good as yours. Those look amazing. I am contemplating removing them, sanding them down, polishing, clear coating and finally ceramic coating them.

Actually.....

I used to spend some time in Canada when I was in the trucking industry and I'm looking forward to someday taking Ginny up there. It's a beautiful country and some really nice folks. I'll just have to make a thorough sweep of the coach first to make sure I have all the guns and ammo out of it.

Just buy the stuff I bought. I think the buffer was $75 the wheels are $21 (I bought 2) and some rouge. No real mess and it's easy. Just don't forget the "Jack Danial's", it's the magic ingredient.
