Hadley Air System

I've seen a lot of you rave about the Hadley Air System. What are the pros to the system? Are there any cons?

Haven't seen any negatives. There have been a couple one-off problems, the latest being a wire not crimped properly. Quite honestly, we love it.

Dave, thanks for the response. It's my understanding that it allows leveling without extending the jacks when parked. Is there anything that it does while driving?

It levels the coach in turns and against side winds. You can also raise or lower the coach up several inches which really helps with some obsticals.

I might add that most air-ride suspension systems use pneumatic ride height valves to sense the correct ride height and bleed off or add more air to achieve the correct ride height. The Hadley system uses electronic sensors and dopes all of the air manipulation in a manifolded valve assembly. It's a better system and isn't subject to many of the issues the standard pneumatic valves can have.

I had a question...sometimes mine goes into "Ride Height" alarm, when pulling in or out of a driveway, also on long sweeping turns..I assume that is normal.

And yes it will level the coach, with out the jacks, told this was good for a night or two, after that, you may have air loss

It's also nice to raise the coach up going over railroad crossings for dips you can raise it up 4 to 6 inches and drive less than 20 miles an hour for extra ground clearance, you also can lower it to go under a garage door or something if you needed to as long as you keep it below 5 to 10 mph and make no turns , it also keeps coach level going down the road It has active leveling .

It will for a period of time, but the Hadley system, as installed by Spartan/Entegra doesn't have an auxilliary compressor to keep the suspension aired up.

HWH's air leveling, including Active Air, typically has a 12V aux compressor, and I think Freightliner's application of Valid air leveling also does.

Jeffnjen that ALARM can be silenced but tapping the dash data information button on your console to your left..thank God! My system seems to take forever to level when first starting.

Isn't mechanical leveling more stable?

You would think?...We have tried it both ways, but only have about 10 overnight stays in mine...and I cannot tell the difference between jacks or air...yet.

The way understand it Spartan / Entegra will soon have the 12 volt air compressor to maintain level when stationary.

Yes on the hydraulic being more stable. But many places with blacktop sites in the hot summer the jacks will sink into the surface. Easier to use air level for a night or two than to get out pads and put them down.
