The trouble with RO is that it wastes 8 gallons for every usable gallon. Then it's stored in a 5-10 gallon tank. They are practical for sink use or ice maker/drinking water, but not showers, washers or toilets. Once the storage tank depletes your pressure drops until it is replenished. That can take a while. Also, RO systems ideally should use softened water. I plan to install both a water softener and small RO for drinking
