Hanging pictures/mirrors
Hi all - We have never hung any pictures/mirrors/artwork from the walls in our bedroom. Now we would like to but the question is what method would a prudent owner use that would not damage the wall or hanging and stay put on over the road travels? Are there studs in the walls? I've not used a stud finder on the walls.

My decorator bought some 3M Command removeable picture hangers at Wally World the other day. Have yet to use them in the coach, but my intention is to hang her artwork wherever she wants it and put a small dab of clear silicone in each lower corner...torpedo level in hand with her approval of levelness. I'm quite certain it'll still need to go "a smidge to the right" after all is said and done.

X2 on the command strips...use multiple strips to ensure nothing falls while careening down the highway.

We’ve used Velcro on a few pictures and it has worked out very well. We take the pictures down when traveling and put them back up when stopped.

Note for command strips, put new ones ever year to 18 months. We have had some pictures fall off the walk. The heat here in Texas will cause the glue to fail. We have on our annual maintenance list.

I also recommend 3M Command Strips. The key is not to get impatient & hang stuff off them until the adhesive has set (I think the directions say 1 hour). Follow the instructions EXACTLY. I've had the strips fall off the wall with the item still attached because I hung the item on too soon.

Ditto the Command strips. Use three times the number of strips that you would use in a house. Mine lasted 5 years on the road before I replaced them after the mirror got a bit loose.

On mine Winnebago used a heavy duty picture frame older at the top, and STRONG sticky backed velcro on the bottom corners. That's the same thing we did when hanging a picture of our own. So far no issues.

We use either push pins or command strips. But in either case, we take them down and lay them on the bed when going down the road.

A caution on the Command Hangers. When I sold the 14 and went remove a few pictures, the Command Tape did not release on 2 of the hangers. One of them pulled the wallpaper off of the wallboard. Needless to say that picture stayed after I repaired the wall. If it's hot where you store, Command tape can bake to the wall. I still use them, but I will replace more often after that experience.

Thank you all for the advice. Looks like 2 basic choices so I'll stow the hammer and 10 penny nails and stick with Command strips and maybe velcro in spots.
BTW Chuck - I've had the very same thing happen with pulling wallpaper from a strip in our galley.

If it was me I would use a French Cleat system like this. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-18-...System/3058195
you could install the wall cleat using multiple command strips and screw to picture cleat to the picture. Then as others suggest simple lift the picture from the cleat and lay it on the bed when traveling.
The nice thing about using cleats is that the picture is fast to hang or remove and you get a perfectly level install since the wall cleat has it's own built in bubble level. (Just make sure your coach is level when you install it. )
Or if you dont want to use command strips, since the cleat distributes the weight over a larger footprint you could mount using multiple small crews vs one big one. Much more discreet and easier to patch up

Hung with Valcro Command strips. Two years and about 18,000 miles and still hanging.
Sorry can't get the picture to post in portrait.

Same thing when we traded in our '06 Bounder this past Spring. One of the hangers had been there since I put it there in '06. It peeled a piece of veneered wood off the cabinet side. I guess after 13 years, it wasn't going to come off as designed. Ended up putting the hook back up there with another hanger so it wouldn't look bad.
