Heat in Las Vegas...Wow!

We decided to stop in Las Vegas with our 2015 Anthem on our way to San Diego, and the heat was 116 degrees at the Oasis RV Resort. I put my external temp sensor in the coaches basement, and although slightly cooler than the outside air, it was extremely hot, over 100 degrees. However, with the AC units running, we were able to cool the inside of the coach into the 70s. Here's a snapshot of our portable temperature display. The AC units performed well, and we're leaving in the morning for cooler weather. Can't wait!

We're in south Texas now and the temps are only in the 90s. Entegra's insulation really pays off in these kind of temps. However, the basement does get up into the upper 80s. I've found that the Dometic CF-80 basement freezer won't cool below 10 degrees when the basement is this hot. And the Dometic specs state that the ability to cool down to zero degrees cannot be obtained when the basement temps are this warm. Dometic has new models (such as the CSX65 or CSX100), as does Norcold that will do this so it's maybe time for Entegra to look at using a different freezer model in the future.

We use our basement refrig for cold drinks and it stays at 33 degrees even with the basement over 100 degrees.

Your lucky Mark, we were down in Mission, TX at the end of June and the temps were in the 109 to 113 range. The beer in the Dometic was nice and cold. The interesting thing we found in Texas with the temps in the 100's was that for 4 weeks we never turned the Aquahot on diesel... ;-)

The insulation in the Anthem is great and the air conditioning works well at these temps, however, anything in the cupboards "like dishes or food" was quite toasty.

It was 106 at 2 in the afternoon when we pulled into Vegas a month ago. In our old MH at 100 we could only get the inside temp down to 80, in the Entegra we easily kept it at 74. Not sure what the temp was in the basement but beer in the frig down there was cold!

We were in Vegas for a couple of days around the 4th. Oppressively hot...in the teens every day, not much cool down at night.

Couldn't take dogs to dog area, burning their paws if we tried mid day. We just let them do their business in grassy area next to us except in the am.

We'll be in the Rockies tomorrow so hopefully a little better.

Vegas is hot hot hot! Soon to be heading north to begin belated yearly travels. Looking forward to some cool down in the sound for some relaxing and fishing.

Here in south Texas, (90's to teens) I use a small indoor evaporative air cooler to assist my A/C. Works great....Now if I could only find something that works when I step outside......

We just finished a week in NW OK. 95-102 every afternoon. Problem was the 65-70% relative humidity every day. Only relief came from the severe thunderstorms in the area 3 of the 6 days. Of course, had to dodge the tornadoes

We passed through Boise yesterday and the reader board at the Stagecoach truck stop east of Boise a few miles read 109. It was 103 in Ontario, Or where we spent the night. A/c's seemed to struggle until we changed the filters. The difference was notable. If you are heading north you may want to try for some altitude.

Well, after starting this thread, we traveled to San Diego today, and at 9pm it's only 82 beautiful degrees. What a difference. Washed the coach and jeep today, and I'm beat. Early to bed tonight.

You really should try LVM across the freeway. Giant clubhouse is always cool several pools and a gated class A park Which you spend 350k on a coach and its what 20 bucks a night more however you can leave your doors unlocked no sketchy campers tons of activities and very friendly fun folks. Even service people in there Even Aqua hot certified tech on premises. Not sure about you guys but to us its worth 20 bucks extra a night I mean how much did you leave in the casinos.
