Heat Pump operation?
My 09 Aspire says in the coach specs brochure that it has standard, 2 15K air conditioners with heat pump. I have had the plastic covers off the ac unit and blew them out and saw on both units something about it having a heat pump. So I am about 99.9% sure it has heat pumps. Now on the Duo-Therm comfort control users guide it says to use the mode button to get to heat pump but I cant get it to anything but off, fan, cool, furnace. Is there something that I am doing wrong? Thanks, Jim

Could the heat pumps have been replaced with air con units or have you owned the RV since new?

I bought it from the original owners 3 months ago with 15,000 miles on it and with the lack of maintenance they have done to it, I doubt they would have replaced both ac units

Try re-booting your thermostat.

Superbee, heat pumps won't operate at temps below 30F, what's your outside temp.

Its about 50*. I don't get any printed words about heat pump on the thermostat. Also, how do you reboot it?

You may have to reprogram your thermostat to include electric heat mode. Check the manual for the procedure. Those of us with three zones and Aqua-Hot can select electric or gas heat modes. I had to reprogram ours after a tech messed it up and excluded the electric mode.

Well, the factory brochure lied to me! Just for kicks, I went up and took the rear ac cover off and it talks about the amp draw with a heat strip, not heat pump, so I think everything is working normal, I just don't have heat pumps !!! Another problem crossed off my list.

The model number should tell the story for sure. You may need to pop the cover off again and search for the exact model number.

To confirm that they are heatpumps, with the tops off, look for the reversing valve. An Air Conditioner will not have one (nor will it have an electrical strip heater but a HP will). Should look something like this:

I have heat pumps and the thermostat does not say heat pump. Rather it says "electric heat". Does your thermostat have an electric heat setting?
