High AC Warning

Hi I have a 2018 Cornerstone and when we pull low to moderate AC from shore power for the dryer or from the aqua hot electric element the volts on one leg of the 50 amp power goes way up to 128v then to 130v then the inverter kicks in to take over.

Would anyone know what is happening?

Thank you for any thoughts, comments questions!

Does it happen all the time at different sites or just at the one you're at now?

Thanks for the replies, this is happening consistently at all parks... When under moderate use the volts spike up. It sometime helps if I have a air conditioner on as that seems to bring the volts down...

Newmar at has a recall going about loose connections on the Auto Transfer Switch. Wouldn't hurt to check yours.

I would investigate that more, I have a Progressive surge-suppressor with a display that monitors amperage loads on each leg, it also tells me if there is a wiring problem. You need to confirm what the VegaTouch is telling you is correct also.

My question would be is it normal for an inverter to kick in to supplement 50 amp shore power? Could be a Entegra thing?

That was my first hunch, I did check the transfer switch and all but a slight loose connection everything was rock tight. The issue persists...

Have you confirmed the voltage rise using a voltmeter? Is it possible that the sensing element that provides the VegaTouch displayed voltage is malfunctioning?

Take care,
Stu

How about while running the generator. If it happens then, look beyond the ATS. If it don't, look at the cord, reel or plug.

I have a surge suppressor too (and I have the issue when it’s inline or not) and it doesn’t read the voltage when it goes high.

So, that would suggest that the problem is an erroneous voltage displayed on the VegaTouch rather than an actual increase in voltage on the leg?

Have you checked the actual voltage on each leg using a voltmeter, rather than relying on the voltage displayed on the VegaTouch?

Take care,
Stu

I'm not doubting what they told you but if its a software issue why don't we all have the problem? Is it limited to certain floor plans?

What software? Vegatouch? If it’s Vegatouch never talk to Entegra; talk directly to Firefly.
