[QUOTE=brobox;2874023]Here is what the red anti scald piece looks like. I don't see it in your photo.

I have no red ring device in my shower control, as shown in the picture. Is it supposed to be there or in the shower "head?"

If your water is not hot at all, adjust the temp control on the AH.

It is hot everywhere, except the shower. Dealer seems to think this part we're looking at (mixing valve??) is bad (7500 miles??). Pull it out and get another from a plumbing parts supplier they say?
OK, now how to remove this 'mixing device' as shown?? Pulled on the gold stem, that was a no-go, and scratched it up in the process.

The handle shuts the water off both top and bottom when you turn the handle.
When you turn handle to hot it turns off
Please help
|
Mine does that too!! When handle is straight down (cold) the water flow is off. When handle goes straight up (max hot) the water turns off again!
Plus, I have No hot water period at anything of the handle. \
That doesn't sound right to me (water turning off at bottom and top of cycle). never had any other water faucet do that?
Did you ever get your situation resolved?

Call customer service, you may need a new shower cartridge. Here comes the bad part....they're closed until New Years. There was a post over a year ago about someone have to replace one for the same reason.

Jim, I'm having the same problem as you, along with NO hot water in the shower. Look at my pic on post from today (down at the end of this conversation) and tell me if that is what you are looking at.
Thanks,

Is that what the techs are calling a 'mixing valve?' And can I grab hold of the gold stem and pull this entire part out? (tried that and did nothing but scratch it up)

Thanks Chuck,
Is the 'shower cartridge' you speak of, what is in the picture that Terry O posted (and also the pic I posted)?
And, how is it removed? Just grab the gold stem with channel locks and pull?
Thanks.

Don't know where the 'scald control' is located nor what it is I need to change out here. Tried to pry a flat head screwdriver in behind the blue plastic ring but it's not coming out. What do I do next? Thanks

Are the water shutoffs built into the valve body on both side open? These are used to shutoff the water to the valve so the cartridge can be replaced. If the hot side is closed it would have the effect of turning off the water when the handle is moved to the hot position.

If anyone's problem is Aqua Hot related... they have all service manuals posted on their web site in their library. Step by step directions with pictures to rebuild the whole unit, all models. They may be a bit technical for some, but a wealth of information for all.
