How can I remove the fireplace?

I have the '12 DEQ model and would like to bring a cable up into the back of the fire place.

Would anyone know how to pull the fireplace out of the cabinet so I can get to the cable?

Thanks!

If it’s like mine there Is a screw in each corner into the frame. Unit then slides out.
It’s heavy.

By any chance does the cabinet top lift off - or are there wire access holes built into the two cabinets directly above the fireplace? You could probably fish a wire through the space.

The fireplaces are not very deep so there's often a sizable void behind them.

The fireplace has screws on each side and some have two screws on the bottom. It comes prewired with a plug on the end which feeds up through pre drilled hole into the media center, then plugged into a receptacle. It is an easy replacement.

This might help since others have removed their fireplaces and placed the woofer behind.

Behind the Fireplace on Aspire 44B

Hope that helps!

Yes, thank you for all of those suggestions.

I've been wanting to snake a USB cable up to the back of the TV for a long time and, thanks to you folks I now have that on the top of tomorrow's to do list.

The good news is yes, the fireplace was held in place with 4 screws in each corner and the fireplace came right out but it was a little heavy.

The not so good news is the darn wiring harness I needed to get to wasn't there! It's behind the wall so the next step will be to cut a hole in the wall then fish a coat hanger up where I can see it.
