The new side console mounted selector switch is a DPDT rocker switch with center-off. It works great for toggling through the menus and displays but I don't see how you can hold the switch in both directions at the same time. I think to reset the MPG you will still have to reach through the steering wheel and hold both buttons on the display at the same time.

Cruzer, when you get a chance would you try resetting your average MPG and report back. I'm being told this function is only able to be reset at a Cummins dealer with their software. As unbelievable as it may seem. Thanks.

I just tried. I hold both buttons and it goes "beep" and returns to the primary display. When I toggle down to the "Fuel Economy" setting to check my average fuel economy it still comes up with the same - 28.2 MPG.

Okay, I "may" have stretched that a bit.

More like 8.2.

Made you look though.

Wow! At 28.2 I was ready to trade you! But seriously that is exactly what mine and other 2016's I have heard do. If being able to reset the average miles per gallon like we always were able to do is something you want to do, you and others may want to let Joyce know. Spartan has been unwilling to fix the problem they created as they think I am the only one interested in this operating correctly. Thanks for checking Cruzer.

Steve,
You had me curious so I just reset my MPG and it did zero out. I do have a replaced dash cluster due to the "check engine" light coming on.

However my MPG is not as good as Marks. Mine was only 7.4

Chuck, mine was replace because of the 1081 FMI 19 fault and so far I have not had the fault. From what I understand mine is the same as all the 2016's being produced now and as unbelievable as it may seem is not able to reset the average miles per gallon without paying Cummins to do it every time you want to reset it. A few of the early 2016's may have a chassis built before they made this ridiculous change and they still work correctly. If your replacement is working and not giving you the 1081 FMI 19 fault for once you are lucky! If owners with this problem start complaining to Entegra then maybe they will get Spartan to fix their problem. If not the answer down the road will be "They've always been this way".

Steve, I did get lucky. My dash cluster was replaced a year ago because of the 1081 code. The light came on and off for about the first 1,000 miles of this trip. The aggravating part was it would come on cruising 65 MPH. Pull over to check it and it was the 1081 code again. I now have 6,800 miles and so far, no more problem with the light in the last 5,000 miles.

Checked our 2016 Cornerstone today and the mpg resets the same as the 2014 Anthem. Hold the up and down arrow for about three seconds get a beep and the mpg goes to dashes for a couple miles then starts reporting the new mpg. No change for ours. Noel

Don't know what the determining factor is for being able to reset, but my chassis date is April 2015 so it's pretty recent. Noel

Mine did not reset. However, I tried it in the driveway - key on, engine off. I'll try it again this weekend with the engine running and park brake off to see if it makes a difference. I don't have the chassis date handy but ours is the first 2016 CS to roll off the line so t may predate yours by a bit.
