How To Adjust Shade Length

We have a bedroom shade that drops about 6" below the window when fully extended. How can I adjust the length back to normal? Thanks, Mike

What is the brand of the shade?
Is it a power shade?

In all likelihood, has buttons to program the end of travel length.

Sometimes they can get jammed in a tight valance and it loses a loop as the roller turns but the shade sticks. I had that happen. All I had to do was lower the shade, tuck the hem up around the roller and bring it back down again and it lined up as it should. Note that if this is the case, your shade will also hang down an extra 6" when in the up position. If your shade doesn't hang down when up but is too long when fully lowered, that isn't the case. In that case you'll need to reprogram the upper and lower set limits.

That video is for a United dual mode windshield shade. His 2017 bedroom shade is an MCD shade that is controlled by the Firefly system. The programming steps are different than what the video shows.

If the OP's shade is made by MCD the programing instructions can be found in this pdf: http://www.mcdinnovations.com/files/...-3-website.pdf

Yes, and no.

The 2017 does have MCD shades but they are controlled by the Firefly system's multiplexed shade controllers. The MCD instructions deal with switch controlled shades, such as windshield shades, or wireless remote controlled shades via the 2 or 14 channel wireless controllers. The shades do have the learning keys (pushbuttons) but the controllers are different in how they send signals to the shade motors when it comes to set the limits. For details on how to do that I would contact Entegra's customer service.

Here is the Programing Guide CS sent me:

Shade Programming for push button motors:

1) Press and hold the up or down button(opposite direction of the current position of the fabric) and the valet/programming button on the shade motor simultaneously until you get 3 confirmation beeps. *Usually takes about 5 seconds*

2) Release the valet/programming button and wall switch. The motor is now in programing mode.

3) Press direction switch again and release. Your shade will start traveling. As you get close to the desired stopping point you can press the directional button one more time to stop the travel and then continue to press the button making the shade move in small ¼” increments. This is a fine tuning process.

4) Once you have that limit set then you will press and release the opposite direction on your switch(changing directions locks in that limit). Allow the shade to travel close to your desired stopping point then press the same directional button one more time to stop the travel and then continue to press the button making the shade move in small ¼” increments. This is a fine tuning process.

5) Once you are at your desired stopping point then change directions one more time. You should hear a couple confirmation beeps confirming that your up and down limits have been successfully programed.

Hope this helps!

THE easiest way is to let them both down to create room to just wrap it back on the spool to where you want it takes 2 minutes
