I replaced 8 in my last coach, every one of them simply stopped working...

I was hoping the motor problems were solved in the 2014's....maybe not?

Hook the motor directly to 12 v. If it runs, it's not the issue.

A 12 v DC motor uses brushes contacting a commutator. You might try spraying contact cleaner into the motor to see if it is just stopped on a dead or dirty spot.

Some of the motors on the '13s are wired in series. On the driver's side night shade there are four shades wired in series. Therefore they are getting only 3 volts each. I wonder if this is creating the problem.

That's interesting in that I've had a day shade go out on driver's side; it did not impact the other shades. If wired in series, one would think others wouldn't work.

I had just the opposite happen. One shade went bad and nothing else on that side worked. PJ replaced the bad one and they all worked again.

Uh, Johnny, the way to tell you have a bad motor is when the shade stops moving when you push the button. Call CS and ask about the memory.

Here's my approach and it has worked for me.
C/S tells me push the s/w up or down if there is ANY movement however slight, you have power AND a good motor and only need re-programming.
That worked all right a couple of times but the last time there was no movement at all and according to c/s I have a dead motor.
Instead of replacing it I had the DW operate the console s/w while I pushed the re-programming button. After a few cycles, it woke the circuitry up and everything went back to normal.
Next time try it before replacing the motors.

What is the S/W & where is the re-programming button?
