Hubcap woes on 2014 Aspire
On the way home from picking up our new Aspire in September 2014, I noticed something rattling inside the front passenger side front hubcap. I thought I would find a small rock, but instead found a twisted off bolt and nut that was holding one side of the bracket on which the hubcap is attached. Unable to repair it at the time, I ensured that the other side was tightened, and replaced the hubcap and continued to drive with only one side of the bracket holding. Pretty much forgetting about the broken bolt, all was well until I noticed that the hubcap was loose. I removed the cap, and discovered that the bracket had been stress fractured, and was about to break away. I probably can repair the bracket by welding it, but I also need to remove the twisted off bolt and replace it in order to have the two bolts once again holding the bracket in place. the bolt appears to be an all thread stud bolt that should simply back out, but didn't seem to want to easily back out. The bolt didn't shear off even with the wheel drum, so there is enough sticking out to allow vice grips or similar tool to grip for removal. Any suggestions other than proceeding by applying more force?

It's still under warranty. Call Spartan and have a Spartan shop repair it with new parts.

The only problem with warranty work is the inconvenience of taking it in and wasting a day when it is should be a simple repair that can be done in my shop. That's just me....

Talk to them and see if they will send you the new parts so you can do the work and return the old parts.

Have Spartan ship you the new parts, they will love that you are supplying the free labor. Spartan has been great to deal with, you should have no problem. It's also good to let them know about the broken part in case others have had the same problem so they can get it looked into with their supplier.

Have been in touch with Spartan, and parts are on the way. They were very helpful and reassuring to work with.

Same issue on front hub. Spartan will take care of it. They replaced all of my hub screw and bracket setup with an improved version; that's what I was told anyway.

Correction, I had my hub seals replaced since they were working there (4 leaking seals) and the one hub cover assembly replaced.
