Balance Charge Amps

Correction to post 13. The latest graph from Discover batteries dated Jan 2017 for an IUI charge profile shows a balance charge current of 0.01C, which for an Entegra sized battery bank of either the smaller GC2 sized 6v AGM or the larger L-16 6v AGM is 8 amps, not the 20-30 amps as previously mentioned.

For 757driver

Before reading the other side of the story here I did equalize my batteries on two occasions when the Vega was first programmed to ask for that. Each time I had to open the basement doors as it set off the gas detector. Did I do permanent damage to the batteries then? Thanks, Mike

Mike,

At this point that would be hard to say for sure. Continue to monitor the performance of your batteries and see how it goes. If you are no longer equalizing then the better charge profile in the Vegatouch would be AGM2.

Don have you or others looked into the PowerPulse devices? They effectively take care of the sulfate issue and are safe for the AGM type.
Discovery recommended them to me.
I think it would take 4 units. 2x6v pairs to do our house batteries. Price 45.00 per pair.
Not sure where i would mount them.
Thoughts?

Dave,

I have no experience with them but the technology looks sound.

Check with Pat Bauer (Entegra Coach Owners Association) president who has had them installed for about a year now for his comments on the Power Pulse devices. He can also advise on placement.
