In coach Vacuum

Is there a fuse for the in coach vacuum system? Ours has quit working and wanted to be sure it was not something as simple as a blown fuse. I have checked the usual areas, bathroom fuse box and the one under the driver's seat. There was a fuse below the driver's seat that said vacuum pump (Aspire) but I have to think that is something to do with the coach itself and not the vacuum I am looking for. I did pull it and check to ensure it was not blown and it was fine.

Look to see if the GFI plug in the passenger side basement is tripped. That what is always the case with mine.

The vac system is 110V. Like Paul said, check the ground faults. If that is not it, check the outlet with a voltmeter to see if the outlet has power, if it does, check the vac itself.

I assume that you have checked to ensure that the power plug for the vacuum has not simply jiggled out of its socket. It is the black plug that goes into the single or duplex power outlet on the side of the box with the electric power reel button.... Is that plugged in? If it is then check the 120 VAC voltage right in that socket and see if you have voltage there.

In coach Vacuum

The list of what I did is far out weighed by what I did not do. I will get at first thing in the morning. I appreciate the answers, good to hear from you Gary. I liked your Magna Shade post, could not agree more with what you said in that one as well.

I will let you as to the success of the directions. Thanks again for the quick response.

My silly vacuum had very loose wires at the wire nuts powering it from the factory and quit the first week until I fixed it. After you check the fuses, look for loose wires. Pretty easy to spot. Look at the wiring immediately near the vacuum unit first.

If anyone is interested, I have heard an "outstanding" description of the ALLEGRO RV Central vac as a replacement for the Dirt Devil 1500.

If anyone does the mod, please post your feelings regarding conversion, placement, and operation.

I'm not so sure about putting something in my Entegra that said Allegro on it.

Past experience aside, I would also be cautious about installing an ALLEGRO named system also.

LOL.....
It's a Canadian company, not affiliated with Tiffin....
But it was a Tiffin owner who demonstrated his to me! It really sucks...so to speak, and their website documents the highest water column performance of any of the RV central vacs that I could identify.

In coach vacuum

It is still dead and all the great ideas did not surface a problem. We are taking off to Entegra today, made this appointment when we were there last time as they did not finish all the items on our list but they were not ones that would keep us from traveling. We had spent two weeks there last time. Guess I will get their professional input. When we were there last time it had stopped working and of course when Mike Lucas tried it, it fired right up, never fails.

Talking to Mike Lucas, sounds like they have expanded their service after sell area and added ten more slots. He had said they took down the fence and trees next to the previous sites and added ten more.

At least this time we will not have any body work or paint that always extends our stay. Once they tell me what is up with vacuum will let you know. Sorry for the delay this time, got side tracked with putting things up and last minute before we hit the road tasks. That's my story and I am sticking to it.

I too experienced the dead Dirt Devil syndrome this weekend. I checked the GFI and it was fine. I tried a reset by pulling the plug several times to no avail. I tried another reset this am after waiting overnight. Still no vac. After we got home I used a portable vac to clean the cargo bays and plugged it in where the DD plugs in. Since there is only single outlet at that location I unplugged the coach vac and left it unplugged for 15 minutes while I used the portable vac. Upon plugging the coach vac in I tried it again and it worked immediately. I assume It had something to do with the length of time I had the coach vac unplugged. During my earlier attempts to re set I merely pulled the plug, waited a few seconds and plugged it back in. You might want to try pulling the plug and waiting 15-30 minutes before plugging it in again.
