If someone wouldn't mind, I could use a tutorial on adjusting the sound. The floor plan/TV placement of the DEQ makes me think that some innovative thinking might be required to get the best sound with the OEM system. Another thought...how 'bout detuning the center speaker in the surround sound set up and using the TV speaker as center?

RE: Subwoofers

I'm with you on the Polk Audios I have them in my S&B and love them. But remember you are in an MH and over doing it with subwoofers, vibrating the walls and such, could break something. Also I may be in the rig next door trying to take a little nap. Just saying.

By far the most important speaker in a home theater system is the center, it's where all of the dialogue comes from. Putting the center speaker in the ceiling is about the worst place possible unless of course you are sitting at the dinette(right under it). Everywhere else you are going "what did they say" and jumping off the sofa when a bomb goes off! If you change nothing, at the least you should dial the center way up, the sub a little up and the fronts and rears way down!
If you want to relocate that center speaker, take a look at the Polk TL1,2 or3. None are more than like 4 1/2" tall. That was the main issue for me was the height. I wanted it to fit under the TV and out of the way.

You're welcome, Brobox, but the good news is you won't have to deal with this cause all of the current production is already Bose which means a sound bar with a sub.

That's right! I keep forgetting I got caught in the mandatory upgrade. Not having seen one when we were shopping, I keep forgetting what we are getting

I have done a lot research. I have two options but don't know which one would give the best sound. 1st is put in a Pioneer sp-sb23w that comes with a wireless powered subwoofer. Great reviews on this set up but in doing this I would loose all 5 speakers and all the sound would out just the pioneer. Hate to loose 4 ceiling mounted speakers, don't mind loosing the center channel.
Next option is to buy the polk tl-2 center channel and a wireless powered subwoofer. That way the polk would be the new center and the 4 ceiling speakers would still be used. The wireless sub would give all the base I can stand. Pls comment as what choice would be best

Lets face it, it's the trials and tribulations of camping!
Gents...Depending on how big the original sub is (6, 8 or 10") you can get a great sub at a good cost to replace it with the super magnet, high wattage and dual voice coils if wanted. I've done many S&B installs of custom systems and there are a lot of ways to skin this cat without your checkbook catching on fire. If you need any suggestions or help, please PM me and I'll help where I can.
