Intermittent Aquahot problem solved

Earlier this year when the coach would sit for a few days with the Aquahot turned off it would not start on diesel unless I drove it for a while to warm it up. In July at the FMCA rally in Gillette WY I had an Aquahot specialist look at it. He thought it could be the thermostat inside the unit and replaced it under warranty. It worked for a few more trips but it finally got cold enough were it would not fire even after driving around for a while. So, I called Aquahot to help with troubleshooting this intermittent problem. I performed the checks as they had asked and when I got to the igniter coil, eureka. No spark when 12 volts applied directly to the coil. The only problem was that now the unit was out of warranty, even though the unit was never fixed the first time and they relieved me of $600 for the new coil tax and shipping. I will say this, they answered the phone promptly and curiously every time I called and now I don’t have to worry about heat as I travel this season.

It was a reported problem under warranty and they should have a record when their tech diagnosed it(wrongly). This should be covered under warranty. I would lodge a complaint with Entegra and try to get it covered. All JMHO

While aquahot may not cover it, I'll bet Entegra will swap a check for a receipt.

Get that assurance from Entegra before you get it repaired.... they have been known to say "well, your problem is not in the computer and you never reported it, and also, that is way more than we reimburse for the repair made, so this time.... sorry, we cant reimburse".

Get your assurance before you get the repair.
