It's Cold in Montana
Morning Entegra Family. We just concluded a trip to Blanchard Idaho where we found our new summer home at StoneRidge | Blanchard Idaho | Golf, Real Estate, Motorcoach. Super happy about that but here is our problem. On the way south to Las Vegas (I know, not smart in the middle of September) we stopped in Dillon Montana for the night. When I got up this morning the it was actually cold inside the rig for the first time since we have owned the Cornerstone (only had it for three weeks now). Here is the coach configuration for this problem:
- Since we are plugged into shore power I have both the Aquahot switches, fuel and electric, in the on position.
- I have Zone 3 in the "Heat Gas" position and it put's out some nice hot air keeping the bedroom nice and toasty.
- I have Zone 2 on "Heat Gas" to keep the floor warm. Works great.
- I put Zone 1 on "Heat Gas" and it just blows cold air. ???
Am I missing some configuration step to get warm air from the floor registers on Zone 1 (living room, kitchen)??

I believe having zone 2 on, to heat the floor may be ineffective for short term heat requirements. Selecting heat/ electric should provide rapid overhead warm air. ( temperature outside must be above 44 degree's to function in this mode ).

Below is a copy and paste from Marc, MRUSA14 that I have used like a bible learning my Aqua Hot. Having had many problems with mine, my zone one was blocked in the lines. Also had a bad motor. Has zone one worked before?
There are two things that you must set on the Aquahot. The first thing is what you want heated and how much. You do that by setting the thermostat to the gas setting for whatever zone or zones you want heated . There are 4 zones. Zone 1 is the front of the coach, Zone 2 is the in-floor heat, and Zone 3 on the main thermostat is the rear of the coach. The 4th zone is the basement, controlled by the basement thermostat. To heat with Aquahot, you set the temperature on each of these zones as desired. Zones 1-3 must be set on gas heat for Aquahot heating. The basement thermostat has only a temperature and off setting and always gets its heat from Aquahot. In addition to these 4 temperature zones, there is the engine heat switch which sends Aquahot heat to the engine block for pre-heating. This should be off at all times except when you wish to pre-heat your engine prior to starting, and is needed only in very cold temperatures.
The second thing you must do is select the heat source for the Aquahot. There are three ways to heat the water in the Aquahot. First off, on Anthem and Cornerstone (not Aspire) there is free heat that comes into the Aquahot any time your engine is running. This is automatic and does not need to be selected. The second heat source is the electric heat switch located near your thermostat. This will heat the Aquahot boiler from an electric shore power connection. The amount of heat available in this mode is small in relation to the heat available from the third source, which is the burner in the Aquahot. The burner runs on propane in the Aspire and diesel in the Anthem and Cornerstone. So, if (and only if) engine heat or electric (shorepower) heat is either not available or insufficient, you will need to turn on the Burner switch.
Use of the fireplace can heat the coach also, but I would not advise doing this without shorepower, as it is a very inefficient heat source if you must run the generator to use it. Better to use the Aquahot when not plugged in.
Lastly, there are the heat pumps. These are the rooftop Air Conditioners, running in reverse to heat the coach instead of cooling it. These also should be run on shore power and not on generator, as they are not as powerful as the Aquahot and are costly to run on generator. The heat pumps are ineffective at lower temperatures. They begin to lose efficiency when the temps gets down to 45F and they will stop heating altogether by the time the temperature gets to 40F or lower. You select the heat pumps by selecting electric heat on your main thermostat. They are very useful when you have a 50A hookup and the weather is above 40F, as they allow you to heat with the shorepower hookup instead of burning propane or diesel fuel.
So to recap, you can heat from
A. Fireplace
B. Heat Pumps

I believe if you are getting hot fluid in zone 2 (floor) you are also getting it to the zone 1 registers. Maybe the fans for zone 1 registers are not working. Check the hoses at the zone 1 registers to see if they are hot.

1.) Check you Aqua Hot panel in the basement and see if you have any faults (red lights) on the pumps. If your have a pump out, it should show a fault. 2.) Also, the B models also had a problem in 2014 where the fluid line got bent/pinched under the kitchen drawers. I'm not familiar with the L model enough to say its the same. You can see these heavy black heater hose type of lines when the kitchen slide is in on the B's

Comer, any success on zone one heat? I forgot about the hose that is famous for kinking that Magic Carpet mentioned. Again the question has it ever worked?

Chuck. We have been on the road two days now and will arrive in Las Vegas this afternoon. Those are excellent points to check. I can see those hoses when the slide is closed so I will do a good inspection at some point today. While I won't be needing the heat during our Las Vegas stay I do want to ensure it will work as advertised for later this year. I'll keep you posted. Thanks all for the assist.

Great meeting you at Stonebridge in Idaho and welcome to the Stonebridge family. Have fun in Vegas; maybe we'll see you in a couple of months.

Remove the bottom drawer on the right side of the galley, and feel the black aqua hot feed hoses. There is probably a kink under there. Straighten out the kink and flow will increase toward the front of the coach, providing circulation and heat.
Get a bright flashlight and give it a really good look. Even a slight restriction in the hose (kink) will impede flow to the front of the coach.
