We have the 18"x18". Very happy with them, as are several friends with the same ones. Wife likes them because they are a lot lighter and easier to place/remove than our old homemade ones We paid $280 a couple of years ago.

Do you have your DW place the pads under the jacks?

:-)

I bought 4 rubber deck tile/pads. They are 16x16 and 3/4" thick, works pretty well and only $5 each

Curt
I carry 4 12" X 12" sq 1 1/2" pads, (each made from 2 pieces of 3/4" thick treated plywood glued and screwed together), and 8 more pieces of 3/4"treated plywood.

Curt, I carry 1 foot 6"x2" PT with wire tie loops screwed at the end of each board to be able to grab them with the awning hook instead of crawling underneath to remove them. I carry these in the MH as the are easy to store and work fine if in a muddy area. At home I have 1/2 in, 12 inch square plywood pieced for the driveway that I keep in the garage.

I have a set of the commercially made yellow pads. Find them handy for a variety of things to include jack pads. I also carry a few pieces of lumber that can be used as pads, leveling aids, etc.

Curt, I believe the prohibitive admonishment is in the Equalizer or leveling portion of the manual. My understanding, is it affects the sensors relative to the auto leveling process..I used pads on my previous coach, but have been hesitant to use them because of the warning..:(

Wonder if they make a distinction between one single 3/4 thick pad under all four jacks and multiple thick pads under just some of the jacks. Given that some places DO prohibit jacks without spreader pads, it is hard to believe that just one manufacturer scares owners into a choice between no jacks (and therefore for some compliant owners, no slides) and damaging someone's property

We have the simple orange pads from CW and 12 X 12 X 2 pads from treated lumber with eyehooks for easy removal.

I only use the wooden ones when we think the grade is soft and we need to spread the weight. If it's really bad we don't use the jacks.

For long-term stays to protect the site, we use the orange pads. They don't do much if anything to shift or balance the weight, but they do protect the underlying surface.

FWIW - we stayed at a site with new gravel and the previous occupants pads left an 8" deep hole at one spot.
