I had the same conflicting information. Look at your front shock, easy to see...if it sits on a plate with 4 bolts, you do not need anything else, it's a direct bolt up.

I have not heard of an Entegra needing the mounting plate yet.

Spartan can't seem to identify by VIN if you'll need the lower bracket kit or not, you MUST visually check. Here is a picture of what you'll be looking for. If the lower mounting looks like this then you will need the lower mounting bracket kit. If it has abnormal bolt going through the eyelet then no bracket is needed.

I have the Koni 99B-3234 under my Magna. They work like an FSD so they automatically adjust to the rate of movement. They work great on my 20,000# Reyco-Granning IFS. I took the adjustable Koni's off as they really didn't work that well even adjusted to full hard. The new 99's have a less "jarring" ride.
On the '02 DSDP with it's non standard 14,600# front axle I went through 6 sets of shocks that Reyco Granning sent trying to get a decent ride. Ended up with Bilstein Comfitrack shocks although the last set of Koni's wasn't bad.

Mr_D the key thing is...what was the weight on your front axle? On the Classic Entegra my front axle weight is 16,560 lbs on a 17,000 lbs axle. The older factory installed Bilsteins are under shocked for the weight of the axle.

I also think the new shock number is worth a try.

Koni lists the new EVO shock for a number of coaches with IFS, including my Allure with Neway. I installed the Koni SP3 adjustable at their suggestion when it was clear that the FSD that CC put on my 14,200# front axle was insufficient. I have the SP3's at setting #4. I still think I get too much porpoising at times.

Sounds like the new EVO is really a beefed up FSD.
