I have now used both the factory installed ladder on the TS, then I purchased the Extend N Climb recommended from others in this post for the Anthem. I have to say now that I have used the wider Extend N Climb extensively do the Enternabond Tape on the roof I do like the wider heavier ladder. With the pool noodle pieces there is no slipping and it is so much easier to carry tools to the roof with the wider ladder. Everyone is going to have a preference and mine not be for everyone. But, if purchasing a 2016, there are no factory ladders that will fit or supports molded into the rear cap any longer.

I had the factory ladder black powder coated and installed on our 2013 Anthem. I find it to be very handy as there is always some reason to get on the roof it seems. I also carry a Little Giant which slides into the bay beside the basement cooler with a little care. I use the Little Giant quite frequently for everything from putting on the sun shades to cleaning windows. It is without question the best ladder I have every used regardless of the configuration you put it in. I also find that every time I have the Little Giant out I usually just leave it sitting beside the storage door for a bit because someone always wants to borrow it "as long as you have your ladder out...." It is a bit of a pain to store but it never scares me, can do anything I need and is always good for a free beer!

I had one installed on my Anthem. They told me also Entegra owners don't get on the roof.
I MAY NOT BUT SOMEONE HAS TO.
I bought it from Jayco dealer in Monroe, La. and my local guy installed it. CS sent me a drawing with the installed backing that is already on the coach.
I think it looks nice and has been used several times while washing.

I kinda think the powder coated black ladder, like Jestal (I think) has, looks fine on a Anthem. Country Coach and until recently Newmar put them on their high end coaches. I would use mine for antennas, flags and a quick jaunt up top when I've had things hit me on the road.

Dont know why, but this ladder issue seems to come up every two or three months for Entegra owner. Chuck, I am going to report the link to a thread where I showed my ladder both when up against the coach and when turned nicely in the basement, positioned vertically. There are three pictures. When stored vertically, the ladder takes virtually no usable space

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/port...-241744-2.html

My ladder is the Harbor Freight version of the Lowes Warner. It is 17' tall which is what you want in my opinion. Any less makes the transition from roof to ladder much more risky. Trying to sit or do anything other than step from the roof to the ladder is impossible. The 17' height gives you something for your hands to do when you make the transition, and provides significant stability.

The HFT version alternates from $119 to $129 when "on sale" (almost always) and is a very solid ladder. Have used it several times and have no concerns about strength. Also, the Warner version of it is usually about twice as expensive and no better constructed IMHO.

Gary, I like your ladder, I am buying one to use at the hanger. My MH is the 42 ft model and short one storage compartment over the 45's. Space was a big factor for me so the small ladder that fits on Pat's shelf mod is the one I carry.

The comment I made is I "personally" enjoyed using the larger than factory size ladders now that I have experience both, however nothing wrong with the factory ladder for convenience.

All of the ladders are good....carrying one is the important part. Not all repair services have a ladder to get on the roof if need. The post about the awning flying loose on the freeway comes to mind. Without a ladder he would have been stuck there.
