Leaky roof??

We have a 2014 Aspire DEQ, over the last week we had about 6 inches of rain and lots of wind. We noticed yesterday that we had a leak it's coming down next to the microwave. If finally quit rainy and the sun is out. I'm planning on getting on the roof tomorrow and taking a look. Anyone else have a leak in the same area?? We just had the roof checked by entegra and resealed last year. We are thinking of getting the life time rhino deal put on roof. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Much less cost and will out live the coach. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/star...id-244908.html

I put it on two coaches when new, never had to do annual patch jobs and never had a leak. Total cost about $250.

From past experience, once roof sealant starts to break down it can continue even after it was just patch sealed.

If you had a peel and seal done at EC you may have 311 roof sealant that is silicone base and eternabond won't stick to it. When you find the leak on the roof just buy some 311 you can get it from camping world and put it on the leak. You can build a dam with dock tape so it won't spread out.

We had a leak in the same spot on our DEQ. It is coming from the slide. On ours, over time, the tape on the slide got bunched up from rubbing against the rubber slide seal.
What we did until we could fix was level the coach so you're slightly pitched down to that side and towards the back. That will keep the water from standing on the slide.

Thor is correct, if Entegra used 311 forget about Eternabond.

According to other posts Entegra started using the 311 in 2016 on the newer models. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/roof...ml#post3919009

From the sample I saw at the factory it was good stuff. Classic owner with the original sealant need to address the problem now as it is past it's life expectancy. I have had a couple of emails from classic owner just this week with roof leaks.

Chuck,
What sealant was used on our classics and can eternabond be applied directly over it?

I don't think anybody will admit to what they used. Eternabond sticks to it with no problem. Clean the surface first and you're good to go.

Before you start going too crazy, have a look at the microwave exhaust vent. Maybe you had some water enter the vent which in turn leaked down where you saw it.

With all that rain and wind you mentioned maybe it blew back into the exhaust vent.

Also, look up around the rain gutter spout. I found what looks like a attachment hole for something that was never sealed up. A good visual inspection will probably reveal the culprit

Did you find anything on the roof? It might help other Classic owners.

Where exactly is the leak/drip coming from. We noticed a leak next to the microwave, but it was coming from the top of the slide out, not the roof of the coach. Thanks. Leaks are not good! Hope you get it fixed soon, especially since you got the roof resealed recently.
