LED Awning Lights

Just installed new led. Lights in front and rear awnings(2014 Anthem) Girard sent them to me black and yellow in color, siliconed both front and rear on both awnings, working fine so far. My question has anyone else used these new blk/yellow lights and do they last? Ricky w/Girard says in bout two months new and improved lights are coming out. Just curious....

Mine are just a week or so older than yours so I cannot comment but the front strand of mine are causing the 5 amp fuse to blow if I extend or retract the awning with them turned on. There was a small crack in the tubing surrounding the lights so I assume that is the issue since the lights I removed worked just fine. I do like the color of the new lights much better . I was excited to read your post that Girard has an even better light coming so I may keep what I have until then.

Yea mine that was removed were rusty and the rear section had a broke wire. Thanks for your reply, I read a lot of your posts and it looks like you are very knowledgable.

Sonny, a good reminder to others.....when looking at my awning lights the other day to see if a dimmer could be wired in, my factory LED connection are also rusty. Those that are DIY it would be worth checking the connections on the awnings as they are not the best. No heat shrink or sealant has been used on the weather exposed butt connectors. There is rust already showing on the positive wire on my LED's
