leveling jacks fluid checking, 2017 Anthem 44B
has anyone checked their jacks fluid? you have to remove 8 screws and loosen 4 more and then the reservoir is behind the motor and its attendant lines. Hard to get to. And mine has a red "wax" like thing on it that appears to be designed to show if the cap has been opened. Customer service says that it comes that way (i.e. with the red wax marker) from the factory.
Wondering....

It's a closed system. If you had a leak you would know. Other than that, no real reason to check it as it shouldn't consume any fluid.
And yeah, it's difficult to get to.

Mine was over 1/2 Qt low from the factory, so I added almost a Qt fluid, hope that is the last time!

It shouldn't be low - at least not under normal circumstances. The jacks are connected at station #2 and the system is connected to an auxiliary pump and reservoir that continuously cycles the jacks to bleed all of the air out of the system. Being a sealed system there shouldn't be any loss of fluid unless there is leakage, and that you would see. My guess is that either they didn't allow the cycling to run long enough to get all of the air out or else the system reservoir was topped off incorrectly. All jacks need to be fully up when checking the fluid level.

PJ told us to raise the jacks and then all a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil to the overflow tank to help silence the jacks. Cycle the jacks a few times to work the fluid into the system. It made a big difference!

Marvel Mystery Oil....Good stuff. Had a '66 F100 with a 292 V8 with noisy valves. Put a can of that stuff in the oil and all the noise went away.
Good to know it is still available.

Not sure what years they did this but in my RV model year there were a bunch of complaints about excessively noisy jacks. Some from 2nd or 3rd Entegra owners. Entegra responded by trying that Marvell Mystey oil. My RV had it added when Entegra did a recall job on my jacks at PDI. I guess it helps. My jacks have always made noise. I just open another beer and let them work.
If you have a lot of jack noise, I think I'd try the Marvell Mystery oil.

They added a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil to mine when I had it in for service last year. Tech said the factory recommended it. Seemed to work.

Marvel Mystery Oil
I was in Middlebury last Oct 2016 for repairs and the jacks was one of the items on the list. They said the same thing, put the Marvel Mystery Oil in the reservoir and give it some time to work it's way into the system and it should take care of the noise. Well, for me it does not work. Ive had the jacks up and down several dozen times since last year and it's still the same. Very noisy.... There's a new post on the site somewhere and I read that it has been found to be an air issue and it is a 10 minute fix. I start my PDI tomorrow and I'm going to bring this up. I'll let you know what the outcome is.....

I had mm oil that helped but doff not completely reslove the issue. I also extended the jacks and sprayed the cylinders with silicone spray. That completely quieted the s system. Be sure to carefully wipe down the cylinders afer the silicone.

When we got our 2014 the lowering of the jacks was heard all over the park. It was awful squealing and moaning. I was glad I could push the button from the inside of the coach and not have to face the neighbors for the noise. I thought that was how they worked. When we did our 2 year check up they checked the jacks added fluid and tested them. Now they are silent and have never squeaked again.
