Long time ago they stopped putting front license plate mounts on vehicles except by special order. Long time ago.. Late last century.

Seems like the thread has wandered from over length and over width to license plates?!? Perhaps a new thread is in order.

wa8yxm Not quite true. If a new vehicle is sold at a dealership in a state that requires a front license plate than the vehicle is suppose to come equipped with front license plate attachment provisions

Maybe so however some states are so desperate for money they have instructed their Highway patrol to issue more citations. Many states no longer have a "fix it ticket" where you simply have the citation signed off by a law enforcement officer and you're done. Calif is one of those states that will do anything to fatten their coffers. If you receive a citation for a minor mechanical offense in Calif. there are monetary penalties involved.
To show how hard up Calif is for money, last year I paid $378.00 to register my 2015 GMC Sierra Denali truck. This year it jumped to $507.00. In addition Calif. raised gasoline tax by approx. .18 cents per gallon. CHP is writing speeding citations for 7 MPH over the posted freeway speed and writing citations for minor offenses such as no front license plates.

I hate to see how much the registration will rise on my 2016 Dutch Star next October.

Noticed the 16 and earlier Anthems have an indenture in the front for the plate, the 17's do not, not sure about the 18's?

I did not install the front plate on our Anthem and on our previous MH (and toad) drove 12+ years without a front plate. Have never been stopped or warned about not having a front plate. Both toad and MH (old and new) are registered in Oregon.

My ‘18 has an “indenture” on the front but it’s not wide enough for a plate.

He is how I feel about it. A LEO can not enforce the laws of another state, like having two plates. With many years in the business, the only reason I stopped someone for no front plate was because they did something that made me want to talk to them. No one is really concerned about the plate.

Vance,

You have got to be kidding!!! Entegra puts the indenture back on for 2018 but no one measures a license plate to know what size to make it. Amazing!!

Driven in all 49 states without front plates, if or when we get stopped I'll put it in the windshield. No place at attach in front. Skip

Cousin Ed, No one said a LEO would enforce vehicle code laws from another state. It can't be done

Not really, cars come with the brackets if the state requires them then the dealer needs to install them if required.
